I am running Spohns coilover front suspension and just ordered a fiberglass hood and Spohn tubular A arms. Since I no longer need the Kmember spring pockets and am trying to loose as much weight as possible, has anyone cut out the K member spring pockets? I know that the K member is bolted to the uni-body frame and I am thinking to cut a portion of each spring pocket off to make it flush with the inner fender. So I will be leaving 3/4 of the pocket but loosing the amount that protrudes into the wheel well.
Has this ever been done or sound like a good idea?
