92 camaro estimates

I've got a 305 TBI, its got hedman headers w/y-pipe, no cat, performance muffler, open element, underdrive pulleys, no smog equipment, a hot chip, shift kit, and a accel 300+ ignition system.

How much horsepower/torque do you think im getting out of it and what times should I expect in the quarter mile?

I know its not gonna be nothin great but the local track around here closed last week for the season so I'm gonna havta wait til next year to run her.

Re: 92 camaro estimates

well...it's a 170hp stock engine with a few bolt ons, so maybe 178hp now? especially since the tbi's don't like to be messed with without a real tune revamp

Re: 92 camaro estimates

i've never actaully gotten to the track but have done many g-tech runs best of 14.5. all the above statements are dead on, i ran no cat for awhile, with the headers and full exhaust the sound was awesome, but it kills performance at least .2 to .5 in the 1/4 never did any back to back runs with or withought the cat but on average i could run, with the factory 16X8 low 15's with the cat, withought it sounds way meaner and run low 16's do your self and everybody that breaths oxygen a favor and put yoiur cat back on, unless you retune the car it's slowing you down.

forgot to mention i run a 3" high flow cat not the factory POS

But how does that work? It seems like you would run a little better without a cat even if the tune was off

go spend a little time on the TBI board...i'm telling you right now that those motors respond to mods like a homosexual responds to a stripper.
