Estimated power/et?
1987 IROC, 700R4 with stage 3 shift kit, factory stall, auburn posi with 4.10's, gutted interior (1 seat, no heater core or any of that) Mickey Thompson ET street radials (255 50 R16s) and
motor is:
454 big block bored to a 468
Ported 366 heads
224/234 duration .527/.544 lift
Performer2 manifold
750CFM carb
How much power do you think it's making and what do you think it will run on motor and on bottle (100 shot)?
I plan on doing fiberglass fenders and doors, tube k member, solid mounts, lowering the lower control arms, and adjustable panhard rod, torque arm and after getting it dynoed a higher stall converter.
My guess is around 440-450hp/500ish tq.

Re: Estimated power/et?
Your guess is probably close enough but I doubt it's that high. That's a very mild street cam for a big engine.
What's a 366 head? Heads from 366 BBC? Heads are always refereed to by their casting number, not what engine they came off off. What size are the valves?

Re: Estimated power/et?
My thing would be, will the 700r4 hold up? I've never had any luck with them, and wouldn't have another. When I had my GTA, I had 3 differant trannys in it, in 3 years. One of them with probuilts advice, and recomended mods. They didn't build it, I did. I've always built my own trannys, and have very good luck with my th350s and glides.

Re: Estimated power/et?
I had a 700R4 the first year I owned the car. Switched to a TH350 because it was an easy swap. After 1 or 2 years, I installed a TH400 with a transbrake. After having some repeated difficulty with reverse, I yanked it out and installed a glide. I love the powerglide. I should have went with it right after I yanked out the 700R4.
