best traction?
Looking for advice on how to get your best 0-60. everytime i try it spins to tires til i hit 30. If i barely push the gas it doesnt take off quick enough and if i push down too much it spins the tires forever. Sorry if its a common sense question but i dont race much and im just tryin to get a good 0-60 time.

Re: best traction?
Tires make all the diffrence in the world. Last year at the track I was having a bad time hooking up, got a great deal on a set of tires, and now I make that my priority purchase every year. Not saying go by a set of racing tires but deffinatly a really good set will help

Tires.
Just because the tires still have enough rubber on them doesn't mean they'll have good traction. Street tires are especially bad. All the heat cycling they do driving on the streets makes the rubber very hard and slick.
Although I like to get at least 2 seasons out of my slicks, many racers will replace them every season and if they have a big enough budget or sponsor, they'll replace the tires once the 60' times start to slip away which could be a couple of times a season.

Tires, Tires, Tires!
Best investment you will ever make. Trying to race without them is like trying to eat soup without a spoon.....

Re: best traction?
Run whatever you want on the street. Buy a second set of rims and some sort of slicks for the track only. Because of the rulebook wording, running a DOT slick such as MT ET streets is easier than a full slick like MT ET Drag although there's no difference in traction.
Just don't use the DOT slick on the street. Although they have a DOT rating, they're not designed for street use and will wear out very quickly.

I think people are confusing "0-60" for "60 ft". Which I assume means you're looking for street traction, not track traction.
Wide performance tires with a poor wear rating will probably get you that. And, they will be expensive.
You'll have to choose between street traction, expense, and tire life. You won't get "good/low/long". You might get "so-so/above-average/below-average" at best.

Re: best traction?
Traction and torque.
No matter how much power you have, if you still can't get traction, performance will suffer so you still need good or newer tires to best utilize any power you may have.
Torque can be made a few ways. Mostly you make it with the engine. If the engine doesn't produce enough torque, it's hard to get the vehicle moving quickly.
Gearing really helps. If your car has some 2.73 gears which are suitable for highway driving, acceleration off the line will suck. Switching to some 3.73 gears will increase the torque multiplication but will also increase the engine rpm at highway speeds.
No matter what you do to improve one thing, something else will always suffer.
