what will i run
i was hoping to get an idea of what i will run on the 1/4 and 1/8 mile drag strips.i have a 1985 z28 with a 383 stroker,roller rockers,camel hump heads,electric fan,full length headers,accel super coil with the plugs and wires and a summit racing 600 cfm carb that is all i know about the engine.tremec tko 600 tranny and stock rear end with good year 28x10.5-15 drag slicks.my next question is what would be a better rear end for street and strip a 3.73 or 4.11 or something else.i know the driver has alot to do with times just want an idea

Don't even consider putting different gears in the stock rear end. My first thought of a response to your ET question was, "Low-13's - once."
You need a 9", 12-bolt, or S-60 in there with 4.56 or higher gears, depending upon the details of your cam. Probably need a bigger carb as well. Hope you have about $2500 laying around.

what's the cam size? what head casting number? "camel hump" is a vague concept as those cylinder heads had a lot of options. some of them were OK for their time, some of them were duds though.
at the moment, i'm going to agree with five7kid, mid/low 13's once or twice before the stock 7.5" 10 bolt explodes

what would be the easiest rearend to swap as i dont have any welding exp.how about the 4th gen rears.where would the casting number be,what size carb should i be using

casting number on the cylinder heads will be in the rocker valley.
fourthgen rearends are the same weak 10 bolt we use. they have 28 spline axles, but are wider and require fourthgen offset wheels. look at a Moser 9" for a bolt in ordeal.
carb size depends on the whole package. cam size/intake manifold/cylinderhead/ compression/and shift rpm. but i would imagine a 750 would be a bit better suited for even a mild 383.

ok iwill get the casting number anyway i can check the cam without removing it.it has an edelbrock rpm airgap
