For the first time ever I am running both my 2nd and 3rd gen road race Camaros at the same race track on the same day so I will find out which one is quickest. Its the last round of two different championships I run the cars in and will be at Rockingham UK 2nd Oct.

I wouldnt normally take both or even afford to but as having done stacks of work on my 3rd gen getting it to handle better I was keen to try it at the last round especially as its a two race double header. However a friend who runs in the chamionship the older car runs in wants that out there so he can have a crack at winning the championship because the rules are the more cars in class the more points. So the upshot is he has sponsored me to take the 2nd gen as well so who am I to turn down his money!!

 

I'm definitely interested in the results, but in the if the cars are really close enough for it to be a competition it will come down to the driver, or even down to that driver's driving that day.

Who's the better driver?

 

The championship reward must be pretty good if he's willing to sponsor you to show up with the second gen. Does he feel he can beat you or does he win the championship if you win or not?

 

I was driving both cars. Yep the Jag usually beats the Chevy but there you go he does have a $45,000 Rob Beere V12 in the thing and an independant rear axle. Anyhow the back to back test was curtailed because of yet another silly problem, the power steering punp I just fitted must have been running out of line as it threw the belt then the water pump belt so I pulled in. The 2ng gen ended up doing two races and had a good race in one pretty boring in the 2nd.
