Anyone have a th-400 with a CSR shield?

I'm planning on switching over to a th-400 this winter. I currently have a th-350 with a csr shield and it fits pretty well. Its tight but fits well. The bellhousing bolts are very close to the firewall so I have to pull the engine and trans together, other than that its no problem.

I hoping a th-400 with a CSR shield will fit just as well as my th-350? I'm hoping not to have to do any trans tunnel modifications. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i just had an ultra bell installed and then you don't double up on the case and shield thicknesses. Mark your firewall for where the bellhousing bolts are at and next time you pull it, dimple the firewall 1/2" or so and you'll have plenty of clearance.

So do you also use a blanket to cover the top of the trans? I was wondering what is more trouble the csr shield or a ultrabell and blanket. Using a trans blanket on the street would probably retain a lot of heat?

I had no clearance issues with a th400 and CSR shield. I just unstalled the supplied bolts into the shield before lifting the trans in.
