Times screwed up......
Okay guys....I am running 1.88 60' marks, yet only hitting 14.1 @ 96 MPH......
And I have all old bsuhsings, springs, shocks, and struts. Theya re all older than 5 years.....
My 60' times would suggest a better quarter mile time...
I guess it is about time for the mini-ram and 1 3/4" headers.
What do you all think?

Sportsman II 72 CC heads, Edelbrock 1 5/8" headers and Edelbrock cat back exhaust, hi-flow cats, Trans-go shift kit, SLP cold air induction, SLP roller camshaft, 24lb ADS injectors, AFPR, 3.45 rear end gears, and other goodies...

WOW! That is a great 60' time but I feel your pain with the 1/4 time.
I don't think you want to go with the mini ram or larger headers yet.
I have a 350 with edelbrock 6085 heads, same headers as you, ZZ9 cam, Trans-go shift kit and a dual exhaust and 2.77 gears and I'm running 14.01 @ 97.0mph.
The thing, besides gears, that is holding me up is my stock intake! I think this is your problem also. Do you still have the stock intake manifold?
In addition have you ported your plenum?
Just my .02.
Good luck!

I have done mild port work to the intake, nothing to radical.
I do not believe the stock intake will handle my combination.
Right now the intake cuts out at 4500 and with the gears and torque convertor coming in at 2800 or so.. it makes a difference...
Most of my parts are made from 2500-6000. And the intake I feel that I need for that combination is the miniram.
If you think different, let me know.

The mini ram and a set of 3.73s would open it right up. I tried to stay TPI this spring when I rebuilt the motor. With the ZZ-9, and ported heads, all the porting in the world on the intake wouldn't have helped. The car was pulling like a bear below 4500, but once the rpm's came up, the car fell down. The best times I could turn were 13.80s. I wanted it, but, the mini ram is a little out of my price range, so I converted to carb. With the Holley 750, and the Torker II intake, I'm pulling hard, right up to 6200. As for the headers, I'd stay with the 1 5/8s. I've seen a few TPI F-bodies slow down after 1 3/4 headers were put on. You need a little backpressure. I run Heddman full length 1 5/8s in mine, and have had no problems. I don't plan on the bigger ones until I'm in the mid to low 12s.

I ran my best times with 1 5/8" headers. My engine wasn't set up for 1 3/4". They would have slowed me down also. Headers are like carbs and gears. Larger isn't always better.
At 96 mph your HP is low when compared to the 60". ET is from traction. With 1.88 60" times I wouldn't worry about your suspension yet. Those are much better times than most. They could be improved but you have some sort of power loss to keep you that slow. Do changes and watch the mph. That will tell you if the changes helped or not.

Thanks for all of your comments guys...
I am thinking about also fabricating an intake too....
I have ideas in my head, I just need to start building it in AutoCAD... And try them out...
