Launches

My launche suck, 50% cause of My lack of traction, and 50% cause of my lack of experiance.

Firstly, How do you suggest launching, Stall up prior or just go from dead stop ?

full throttle or ease it in ?

and secondly, Is going out and repeatedly practicing my launches going to adversly effect my car ?

As Cool as it is to leave the line in a scream of burning rubber and blue smoke, Its better to Actually Put the power to the road.

Tires are the biggest part of getting good traction. Invest in some drag radials or slicks if you want to get serious about traction. If you want to keep your regular tires then you need to do some practicing. When you launch ease into the throttle just enough to where you lauch hard but don't spin much. Once you get moving then go full throttle. Takes a little practice to experiment and figure out what works best for your car. The practice is hard on your car but if you stay under your red line and don't spin at high rpm's for extended amounts of time then you shouldn't have too many problems.

My experience says that shifting manually is best for my car. But, then again, I know how to drive it. I'd say, you may be best leaving it in drive. This way you might be able to mash the throttle off the line w/out getting wheel spin. I've spoken to people before who swear that their cars are faster in drive. I can't see how that is, but it seems the guys w/ cars that are closer to stock are saying it. It's either their lack of experience/skills or maybe, for some reason, the car actually does run better that way.

Well, I manually shift 2-3 But 1-2 I cant because my shifter slips to 3rd, its the stock one and its not very well designed.

I think slicks are a little overkill, as Im running an internally stock LG4, but Im working on getting better tires here, the ones i have Do suck bad.

LCA's are also on the To Do list. But I guess what im gonna have to do is get out and practice. Thanks For the advice guys.
