Wider tires definitely. Also, you can replace the rear trailing arms. Hotchkis makes a rear suspension kit for about $300 that helps immensley. A better thing is a tubular adjustable torque arm. Various companies make them. Random Technologies is the only one I've seen anyone use and costs about $450. Not only is it stronger and lighter than stock, it allows you to dial in the proper amount of pinion angle very easily. Thirdgen f-bodies don't have enough negative pinion angle stock. (I think negative pinion angle is down but I'm not sure). The adjustable arm allows for 4 degrees of negative pinion angle (do NOT go more than 4 degrees in any direction). When a car is launched hard, the force levels this out and both tires get planted hard. CHP did a drag test with this arm and decreased their 60ft time by about quite a bit.

maybe check out the spohn rear suspension stuff, just hit the link at the top of the page. i use it and i love it, along with a set of hoosier quick time pros i can cut low 1.9xx 60ft's all day long.
i would also suggest a set of control arm relocators, putting the arms at a steeper angle creates a lever against the weight of the car that will push the tires down.
you don't hafta worry about the pinion angle too much, the torque arm suspension creates a lot of it on its own at launch.

I looked at that article again. Positive pinion angle is when the nose of the rearend points to the ground. Imagine an imaginary v drawn through where the driveshaft and pinion shaft intersect. When the car launches, this levels out, plants the tires, and returns to normal. On their 93 Trans AM, 60ft times dropped from 1.88 to 1.64 seconds after installation.
