You could remove the rear seats, the spare tire and jack. Just a start, but it's something. Should be a total of around 50 to 60 lbs.

to startoff, i removed the back seats, the noise deading stuff under the carpet, the A/C system, the radio and all the speakers, and got a K&N chrome air cleaner, to get rid of all the intake ducting. after the motor swap, i'm planning on removing the carpet to install the cage, and "forgetting" to put it back in.

remove all the interior panels after you pull up the carpeting insulation and remove that junk too. then take out yer handy dandy dremel tool(i love this thing ) and cut off all those stupid little brackets that hold up the rear seats, seat belts, and the rear armrests. that should be another 50lbs or so, i'll weigh it once i get it all out.

get rid of the stock front buckets and put poly racing seats in. You'd be surprised at how heavy those stock suckers are.Depending on how hardcore you are, you could pull the washer jug, washer motor, heater, a/c, convert to manual steering, lexan windows, radio and speakers....etc. It all depends how you drive your car and what you can live without. If you don't need it, pull it!

If you want to chop about 20 lbs off the nose of your car and help weight transfer, you can take off the front sway bar. I'd only suggest it for drag racing though. Since it's so easy to take off, I just take it off when I get to the track then put it back on before I head home. Also things like a fiberglass hood, aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaaft, aluminum heads, ultra-lite wheels (some wheels are ridiculously heavy), tubular control arms. How much do you want to spend and how serious are you?

Thanks dudelovitt. The motor is in and alll tuned up. I can't wait for the snow 2 melt. As for the exhaust, it has a nice deep rumble at idle and it gets pretty loud when you step on it. I got the whole exhaust system plus flowtech headers for $300. The guy had a baby and needed money. The whole system was brand new. He had a bill for about $950 including labour. So considering that's Canadian, it isn't too bad. I scored a HELL of a deal on it!
