'82 Camaro with an L98 from an '89 F-Body, stock internals, headers into a single muffler, dyno'ed at 248whp/343wtq, 3.73 gears, Torsen T2R, 10-bolt rear, T10 transmission, street tires, car weighs around 3150 with a full tank of gas (autocrossing this weekend and usually run with a full tank, hoping to burn some off before heading to the drag strip next Friday).

This is a contest I'm doing for customers in my business (Matco Tools distributor). Currently have guesses between 13.4 and 16.3 .

My old 305 TPI Firebird that dyno'ed at 209/275 to the wheels and weighing 3333 pounds did a 14.46@95.66 on street tires.

My guess is 13.65 @ 102.

I've talked to Tony a few times. He's had a couple, um, "customer matches" in my area.

Re: What will it run?
That's a loaded question, it really depends on the driver. My 87 Formula 350 ran a 13.5 @ 100 with an exhaust and cold air and about 5-600# more, I wouldn't be surprised if I could knock off a 12.99@106 with your lighter car with slightly more HP and a better transmission, gears...

Out of curiosity is it closed for good? My local track is threatening to close for good as well, pretty depressing to think about.

Re: What will it run?
Just got back from 75-80. My car went ...

[JeremyClarksonAnnouncingTimesOnTopGear]

One

Three

Point

[dramatic pause]

five-six![/JeremyClarksonAnnouncingTimesOnTopGear]

I had "new" Kumho Ecsta ASTs mounted. First run with the tires at 25 psi, totally roasted the tires off the line launching around 2K, 2.33 60' time and got a 14.50@99.88. Next run, lowered the pressures to 20 psi, launched at idle and didn't spin the tires but missed 2nd -- 14.61. My third run, got a good launch, didn't miss any gears and got a 13.70@100.80 with a 2.06 60-foot time. Next run was a 13.60@101.32 with a 2.05 60-foot time. And my final run was the 13.56@101.07 with a 1.98 60-foot time. On my last run, I put the front Koni SA's at full soft (rears were already at full soft) and launched around 1,500 rpm.

The timeslip:

RT: 0.084
60': 1.989
330': 5.610
660': 8.678
MPH: 80.47
1/4: 13.568
MPH: 101.07

Uploaded my fastest run to Youtube:

Somehow, um, deleted the mis-shift and roasting tires off the line runs, though.
