91 RS vs 93 GTZ

Has anybody raced these cars on the streets? would I be able to hang with these cars. I know that the GTZ has 180hp to my 170hp but i do have way more torque. Both cars are stock and 5-spd. Do i have a chance? Im going to be putting money on this, so im kind of nervous.

Torque wins stoplight races. You'll rape him.

I feel dumb but what is a GTZ?

LottaBalls, you know you can edit your posts, but your way gives you a free post.

The GTZ is a Chevy Berreta. It the one's with the solid front grill cover, ground effects, and nice wheels. Its looks pretty cool but I dont know if the GTZ is an apperance package or an appearance AND performance package.

My friend, which is who Im going to race, has the 93 model and all GTZ's are a performance package.

I wouldnt be able to tell you how fun to drive they are, eventhough they are FWD. He is always picking on imports and they always respond, not knowing that this 4cyl. car has 180horses and of course he whoops them badly on the other hand i guess my RS with its gorund effects, Z-28 wing and dual 30in. chrome tips are too intimidating.

I just want to beat him to let him know that even my 305tbi has to be respected by some. Plus the $200 are not bad.

I sold my 1992 RS (5.0/auto) for my current 1993 Beretta GTZ.

HUUUUUUGGGEEE difference. The GTZ w/ its Quad4 DOHC 4 banger is insanely quick... Beware - If the GTZ driver knows how to drive, you better be sayin' some prayers.

My first car was a Z26 with V6 and it was mildly quick(faster than the quad four) but there are few camaros who would have to be saying prayer's against one of these. My mom owns it now and it still has 61,00 miles on it. It is a 94.

Actually, the Z26, with the 3100 V6 and auto tranny is BY FAR SLOWER than a Quad4 GTZ. There is a 20hp difference!

hp is great if you are runnign a distance, but for a short stop light fight i will take the torque of a V8 pushin rear tires over a front wheel drive car that hs to be babied otu of the hole to keep it clean.
sure in a 1/4 a 15.9-16.2 stock rs is gonna get beat by a 15.6-15.8 quad4 beretta, but street races aren't even 1/8 mile usually, so all that really counts is the 60ft and that goes to the f-body.
