okay so my dad and i are nearing completion of our 86 and its really bugging me as to what the dang thing will run. the car was built by fj smith and used to be a Super stock gt/h car the motor was out when we got it and it only had a transmission in it. its a backhalf car with an aluminum centersection. the gear we're gonna go with is probably a 4.56. the motor is a 555 carbureated on alcohol. 13.8:1 pistons. 7-4 swap cam. forged pistons. aluminum brodix 3 heads. rear slicks are 32x13.5W. since it was a super stock car the car is all steel aside from the hood. he and i guess that 1/4 mile itll run 9.20's, im really hoping that 1/8th mile it goes about 5.70 but realisticly im guessing around 6.00 to 6.10. what does everyone else think?

 

cam specs? cylinder head flow? intake? carb? stall speed? lots of stuff left out....could go as fast as 8.90's, or as slow as 11.00 without any other info...

 

im thinking upper 5's somewhere just as a guess? car should be setup fairly well if it is what you say it is.

 

intake is set up for a dominator, the carb is an 1150. im not sure what the flow is for the heads i know its matched for the intake cam i think the lift is .625 i think no sure what the duration is. the planetary in the trans right now is a 1.92. the stall i dont know but its an 8" the motor itself makes about 880-900 N/A. and its gonna weigh about 3200lbs with me in it. in his dragster that weighs 1800 with close to the same setup ran 4.80 in the 1/8th and 7.50 in the 1/4. itll have some kind of mufflers, pretty sure borlas or magnaflows. stall for the converter we have now is 6400

i hope so, as we're progressing it seems the guy who we got it from set the car up to leave pretty hard, the 4link is set up pretty aggressive, that 1.92 gear and the 5.09 gear it had that we have since swapped out. 5.80 would be nice. itll be on alchohol too so i dont foresee too much of a swing in the winter time
