What would be my top speed in 3rd gear with 410 gears, I have a 700r4 and a 305tbi.
with 28 in tires. I need to know what I can do to run at the track with out running out of breath, before i get to the end of the 1/4 mile..And if there anything i can do to reach the end of the track..
thanks

With a 5000 RPM redline it's 101.6 mph.

You'd need about 275 RWHP to the ground to break 100 mph in the 1/4 in a 3400 lb car. If you have less then you're not going to run out of gear before the end of the track.

I had 4.10's in my 305 TPI a few years back.
With the 700R4,I was hitting almost 5500 RPM in third gear at the end of the 1/4 mile.If I can remember right,I was hitting a little over 90mph at the finish line.
I dropped down to a set of 3.73's and ran faster.
Hope this helps,
Nitro Don

This is assuming no torque converter slippage. This is where I made my mistake in selecting my 3.73's. Assume at least 15 percent less speed than calculated.
