The cost of HP
This Sunday 26 Aug the local track www.racecity.com is having a "Front wheel drive" class added to the bracket program. It's not going to be a bracket race for them but a heads up, no dial in, no breakout on a .500 pro tree. First one to the end of the track wins.
I was trying to get my bosses daughters car. A 99 GrandAm 3.4SC. I wanted to see what it could do but she wouldn't let me use it. Then I was thinking, how about finding a 1970 Olds Toronado 455. It's front wheel drive
Anyway... I was at the machine shop today to check out my engine (not ready yet, Tuesday or Wednesday). There was a rear wheel drive import on the dyno. I never looked to see exactly what it was. Listening to an import making a dyno run just sounds bad. After the run, the salesman tells me "Another happy import driver" He spent $1500 on parts and made 6 horsepower on the dyno
Like everyone always says, you won't make big HP gains from bolt on stuff.

You should've said something sooner, there was a 455 Toronado with a For Sale sign in the window parked on my block for almost a year, but it disappeared a couple of weeks ago.
Who's doing your engine?

Steve Buddy,
You probably need to qualify "BOLT ONs". I unbolted my 305 and "BOLTED" in a 383 and gained some awesome HP!!
Willie runs 12s with his SC "bolted" on and 14s w/o it!! =o)
Good Luck with the new motor, I can't wait to hear how you do with it!!
