What Should It Run???

My cousin has been putting all of his time and effort into his '84 Firbird S/E. The mods on the car start with an '86 Trans Am TPI 305 hooked up to a stock 700-R4. He has the stock rear-end with 3.73 gears, but no posi. He is currently building a posi rear hopefully with 4.10s. The motor is stock, but before he runs he will have a K&N filter, tune up, and hopefully a throttle body. The exhaust includes Heddman headers, 3" Supercat Cat, 3" Dynomax Intermediate, 3" Inlet Flowmaster 80 series muffler, and dual 2.5" outlets. He plans on running the car at Lebanon Valley Dragway, which is between 800 and 1000 ft elevation. The car has no A/C, no power windows or doorlocks, and he will probably take the rear and passenger seat out. He also plans on shifting the automatic, and maybe launching the car. He wants to hear what it should run, so he has something to shoot for next year.

if he's keeping the TPI, i wouldn't recommend 4.10 gears. If anything i'd say swap the 3.73 for 3.42's. TPI's make all thier power down low, so giving them that much gear would basically ruin thier main strong point.

AS for what times he'll run right now, im bettin about a 15.2+/- at around 86-89 mph+/-

I agree on the gear ratio. Sticky tires would lower the times the most. Adjustable fuel pressure regulator should help too.
