Any quick ways to shave a few pounds?

I have a 89 RS/ LQ4/ MP T-76 Turbo / TH400. My current best is 10.58 @ 134 mph with a 1.6x 60'. I'm only running about 10 pounds of boost.

My car weighs 3800 with me in it (full interior). My goal is to make my ETs match my MPH without turning up the boost or screwing around with my overall setup. I'm thinking of installing a transbake as well.

I'm thinking if I could lose a few hundred pounds that would really help a lot. Any good suggestions?

how in the hell do you weight that much I was at 3250 with me and a full tank

I did a 4th gen dash swap shaved a good 30 or so there maybe more pull you back seats spare tire subs if you got them WHEELS 1 pound in the wheel is 10 lbs in the car so if you shave 15 lbs off your wheels thats like loosing 150 lbs from the car

Diet too

If I could get my car down to 3250 I might run in the 9s just as she sits! Is your car all stock? also do you have a cage? Nothing has been removed from my car as far as I can tell plus a cage has been added.

Re: Any quick ways to shave a few pounds?

At that time it had a 383 LT4 t56 no cage 4th gen dash swap and glass hood no ac or heater SS wheels 10 bolt rear all stock suspension

I am hoping to stay around that with my new setup L76 6.0 t78 turbo 4l80e trans tubular front end no back seats adding cage subframe connectors and same SS wheels still no AC or heat

Re: Any quick ways to shave a few pounds?

Either your scale is off or you have a lot more in your car than normal or you weigh over 300 pounds. Mine is a gutted out race car. Full cage and BBC. My race weight sitting on the starting line is right around 3000 pounds. I'd love to shave another 200 pounds off the car but it will never happen.

Your ET won't match your MPH with a turbo car. Your MPH will always be higher.
