Enough engine for 10's?
I got a 355 with eagle rods, 13.3.1 compression, custom cam comp cams, 312-322 duration, 630- 630 lift, track 1 heads, roller rocker arm 1.5, victor jr intake, 5500 rpm converter, 350 tranny, msd box 6al, long headers, 3.70 gears for the moment, i got a 12 bolt already to put on it with 4.56 gears, can i run 10's second with that? I got before, flat pistons, double hump heads full porting, lunaty cam 292-302 duration, 550-571 lift n the same converter & tranny & 3.70 gears & run 12.23 at 107.56 miles on the 1/4 mile & 7.67 second at 96 miles on the 1/8 mile.

Re: Enough engine for 10's?
depending upon the weight of the car and if the trans and converter are any good...i wouldnt see 10s being out of reach.
just hope the ring package has a good seal (1-2% leakdown most)...and it should roll

Whats the .050 numbers on the cam? 312-322 seems alot of advertised duration for a 355. This thing will need to turn alot of rpm with a large cam and track one heads, but if light enough it should get there. Sounds like a possible 600 hp engine. Thats enough

yeah, only 10mph gain on the backend indicates a problem for sure.

Re: Enough engine for 10's?
I think your cam is way to big for that combo and you need to reconfigure the tire/gear size to better fit the power band
