This means nothing without a casting or model number

Edelbrock 750 cfm carb

Why such a big carb for a small cam? This will make you slower

700R4

Stock stall?

1987 TA manifolds, otherwise stock all the way back

OUCH
Not enough info to guess but I will try.

Somewhere between a 14.5 and 18.5

Are you using this cam?

Re: What should I run

we really need more information man. cylinder head selection is a big deal. just cause it has a 2.02/1.60 valve combo in it doesn't make them good. i'm guessing it has a stock torque converter in it as well. just a WAG, i'm going to say 15.3ish, maybe slower.

wouldn't take a terrible amount of money or effort to get it in the the 13.9 range.

what is your goal?

EDIT: 69 corvette double hump heads

My goal for this setup is 14.00 but really a 13.9.

Its a 325-350 hp, 345-375 tq motor

With full exhaust and a torque converter I would expect 13.5-13.7

Heads, cam, tires, and gears are holding this combo back.

As it sits I say high 14's/low 15's, low to mid 90's for mph. Drag radials and steeper gears will get you closer to your goal, but the camshaft and heads is going to have a hard time making 350 horsepower imo.

The machinist at the shop, and the rest of the car enthusiasts who I have talked to at shows.

It makes sense to me, the cam is rated 350 hp and tq. I expect to be lower with the stock exhaust and converter right now.

A camshaft can't be rated for a certain horsepower level there are just too many variables (compression, displacement, cylinder head flow, etc).

A 350HO crate engine from GM makes 330 horsepower 380 ft lbs of torque with open headers, better heads (Vortec), and arguably a more modern camshaft.

You're asking your question in the right spot, the drag racers know what it takes to make horsepower and run a good ET/mph. In my experience, at car shows everyone is "making at least 400 horsepower", have you ever seen an event where those guys find out what their cars will run. I have and it's not pretty

Re: What should I run

^^^i thought it was "at least 600 hp" nowadays.

car shows is not the place to ask.

i think that with headers and proper tune that combo can make 300ish flywheel hp. this CAN be enough to get you to your goals, but it needs a converter built for it like "whoa", and needs more gear, definitely sticky tires, and go ahead and through sfc's lcarb's at it to be good.

That cam is about the same as the 327 325hp cam. Although those are 1960s hp so that would be a 250 - 275hp engine today.

400 at the wheels, 600 at the flywheel, losing 200 horsepower through the 2" flowmaster 40 series mufflers

The guys who set up my engine parts put together some good working parts, I should be 10:1 compression.

Please tell me how that makes any sense.

Because in the 1960s they measures gross HP so a 1960s 350hp engine was 350 gross hp. Now they measure Net HP so a 350 gross hp engine is ~250-300 net.

Those engines were over rated by today's standards by 15-30%
