What headers are those? Hooker super comps? What price will you be selling them for? Thanks for the info.

What are you looking to get out of the Ground Control setup?

That's a really nice stash of parts you have there!! I would probably get a little overwhelmed and not know where to start.

started selling off a few of the billet parts .I dont need more then 2
when i got the car back from Lingenfelters.it had an all Accel ignition system.
worked fantastic. but i am going with full MSD set up. might put the accel in my 92 sport truck..

going to drop $300 in towing fees to bring the car to the new place. so i dont have to bolt the front suspension back on then take it back off..to paint the front bottom of the car. they told me no prob.. and yes its on a rollback. just have him drop it n front of the shop.. ill do the touch up(from the old K member) coming off. then bolt it together and push her in the new shop for the make over.

Re: drag race time is upon us! and a new shop is almost done!

when it comes to the 91/92 camaro i do....lol
the winters make shopping fun. the only bad thing is.. ya run out of things to buy.
when ya have only 1 hotrod. but ya get to shop for Fantastic deals (like a $800 fuel pump. for $100)
or $300 parts for $50 still new in boxes...i cant pass up a good deal!

so the the Hoarding starts!

the only thing i dont have is a set of 90lb hr injectors... as the brand new 42hr i do have are going to be to small..
some parts.. ya can only buy 100% from the makers so ya know there going to be good.

Re: drag race time is upon us! and a new shop is almost done!

awesome work space, you did some great work! i'm looking forward to the day when the 24x30 at my house is 100% for wrenching....

right now it houses the wifes ride, the camaro, 2 mowers, kid stuff, seasonal decorating stuff, etc.....oh yeah, and my tools, tool boxes, work bench.

the farm i grew up on had a 48x48 with hangar doors and 16' ceiling. it was awesome, you could scatter parts and tools for days.

Re: drag race time is upon us! and a new shop is almost done!

the goal for me is a 30x40 garage with a 14' ceiling on one side and a 10 foot on the other. A lift will be on the list for sure.

Re: drag race time is upon us! and a new shop is almost done!

it was either combine homes at my place or her place...and she had this shop she was not using her space for stuff is in the 2 car garage under the house.. so it was a no brainer. rent my place out.. and start using all that space!

and i like a clean work space one ya can hang out in on a sat night..if ya had to..ya know.

got to temporarily bolt my front end back on my camaro. so i can get it on a rollback and get it over to the new digs.

the only stuff she had in the place was what you see in the first pic..some paint cans and junk..one trunk load of stuff (gone!)

i then moved my stuff over...from my place...to the new place..as you can see. There is enough for a car..and then some..

Re: drag race time is upon us! and a new shop is almost done!

well update time.
with the wedding and reception over i can now move on to getting the car done.

cut loose of a few parts i did not need anymore.
one was the SPHON K member and A arms. nice looking parts..
and a few others.. posted them for a good price(made a few bucks)i never pay full price and on to a new home they went...

so now i have my UMI K member on order...
if i had known the UMI k member is set up for the front frame brackets i would have never used SPHON parts to move my car..

i would have used UMI parts from the start!
hey UMI ya need to list info on your site about the front brackets working on your K Members...

anyway..it's time to start getting the parts together

so... this will be the new home for a UMI K Member...

Re: drag race time is upon us! and a new shop is almost done!

i like my PA Racing stuff a LOT...it is lighter than most anything on the market (except racecraft stiletto, but that's a whole 'nother type of deal). i drive it no questions asked, but there are some that want the beef of the UMI roadrace type k-member.

of all the horror stories and hearsay i've heard about tubular k-members on the street, i have yet to see first hand a failed k-member. additionally, the stories and hearsay i've heard have been from people that "heard stories or hearsay" and have never personally seen a failure either.

thusly, i've concluded that they are just that....stories and hearsay

of all the horror stories and hearsay i've heard about tubular k-members on the street, i have yet to see first hand a failed k-member. additionally, the stories and hearsay i've heard have been from people that "heard stories or hearsay" and have never personally seen a failure either.

thusly, i've concluded that they are just that....stories and hearsay
thats all iv read about is hearsay on K members failing. 10 years ago i saw pics of a A arm fail..but it looked beat on..and guys just started making them... at that time..

but what i have seen is just..we will say poor enginering.. i can see that a maker makes a part to work with rack and pinon steering.. then they take and mod it to fit reg power steering...(

just lazy if ya ask me...
some guys will use it and like it..good looking parts....me i want to be 100% Satisfied with what i buy. and install on my car..

as for UMIs road race K Member i talked to them. they talked me out of the RR member... money is not the prob. and i dont auto cross my car..so why not just get that one...waste of money..for my application.. ya got to give credit to a seller of parts to say.. dont spend more money for this part....that and it's about 4lbs more. i did by another set of A arms from Sphon... with rod ends.. as i will post if not 100% happy with fit...

i think that was the name..it's the only one thats ever been posted.
if i recall.. it failed in the tube.. not at any welds.

from what i remember it looked like bad material.. (tubing)
but it was a long time ago. and none since then..

yup, that's the same one i was thinking of. it was a PA Racing a-arm and was a freak occurance. Jason said he'd never seen anything like it before, and not had anything like it since.

not with Sphon I can tell you sphon has not done anything to there K Member. But hack it up to get it to fit a regular power steering 3rd gen camaro.. if your not going to drive your car ever. And use it for a static display model. Then you're OK. But their parts don't work with GM parts for a bolt on application....

you have wheel set back. You have Tierod interference. To name a few...and that's without even an engine in the car...that was enough for me to see that there Hacked up parts wasn't going to go in my car.

and when you try to talk to sphon on the phone about their parts not working with GM parts. I get more excuses than Congress.they ask.. Try using these parts by/with these aftermarket tie rods....have ya tryed flipping your center link around.....then get told ..."ya well not much we can do"
try this set of A arms...they should work.....lol
sorry good luck....... they Don't give 2 shakes..they got there money..
asked them..hey can i send it back to have you look at it.and buy a better one..was told by sphon..we would just scrap it..sorry no...lol

So I just went with another manufacture..i am going to try sphon's 2nd set of rod end A arms ..and if they dont work / fit..I will also do a post on them as well....
it's the least i can do for them...

All you need now is a car lift and you could be a full blown shop!

can't pull a trans on that second one. if all you wanted to do was wheels/tires/brakes, then i guess the second one would do OK. the first can do both.

i want a "drive-on" with the frame jacks that slide on tracks between ramps. best versatility. you can set your suspension up with it loaded much easier.

Per UMI 20lbs lighter then stock . Yes you can get it in black.
I think this is the most universal K member. As this one part number can be used with LS engines .sb or bb chevy eng.. coil over or coil spring..so you can swap out low cost smaller parts. With 1k member...you can switch to any setup you like.

Me I wanted a k member that would work with any aftermarket part made for the 3rd gen camaro..
