Post up pics of your third gen when you started and a current photo. complete or not.
I was digging through some stuff and found the pics of my Ta the day I got it. It still makes me chuckle a little about what a turd it was. Anyway I thought it might be a cool thread to start so here goes.
This first pic was june of 2003

July 2003 first time at drags with it. 16.1s @88 mph for a total in the car of $850.00

Re: Original and Current pics of Your third gen
I got this 1991 Camaro Rs 3.1L V6 auto back in December of 2002 with 33k miles on it. Ran 17.30s in its stock form. I drag raced the crap out of it for many years in its stock form. Was consistent for a stock car. Got it for $4200 and it was in damm good shape for 33k miles. The picture with the car having a bra on it is the day I brought it home...
Now its a mid 12 second V6. Still am trying to make it faster and more consistent then ever. But its a fun fun car to drive around on the streets and its always fun to get a interesting conversations at the race track, either good ones or bad, I still love the direction I went with the car.

Thanks! Hopefully I can get out to Norwalk soon. Ive been hitting up Milan for points so far this year as its so much closer to where I live now. But I grew up racing and spectating at Norwalk since I could walk. I miss going there like I use to.

few days after bringing home the v6 nexto my old 383 t5 iroc

few months later cleaned up added z28 grill/tailights 2 tone tint /nexto the elco

couple years later with the first turbo engine , full 1le suspension swap , harwood 2.5 inch bolton cowl , and 16 inch iroc rims, 2 tone tint removed in favor of straight black tint

car knocks on the 11 second zone with a 3.1L v6 and garrett hybrid 60-1 turbo , tci 4500 stall, tci streetfighter trans, 4:10 rear gears
z28 before the v6 car
car was for sale at the carwash bought it on the spot and washed it up

engine well um its 305 was beat up bent pushrods, low compression etc so that started an engine build

car ended up like this with a 4 inch cowl hood

sorry for the crappy pictures but most of these were taken before digi camera were good or common

somone blew up the original tpi engine and swaped in a 70's truck motor carb and all( of course u know everyone has a vette engine in it when they sell it lol) and really hacked up the car , i got it super cheap though

heres a somewhat before shot as i had already started to work on it byt his point

then i decided i was going turbo on this car as well so started putting it back to tpi

top of the t6 76mm turbo peeking out
then i decided i wanted twin turbos so i sold off thew t6 turbo and parts and went twin gt3076's

Re: Original and Current pics of Your third gen
next came the flat black primer

winter came and i lost a few freeze plugs, time for a built engine

the original hood was tweaked so i replaced it with an amd steel 4 inch hood

cars up and running now
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7uZzE8PESY
some odds and ends then its off for paint , and when it gets back the dragstar racestars will be going on it

Re: Original and Current pics of Your third gen
I already posted pics like this in a different thread.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/orga...-race-car.html
The only thing missing from that link is how the car looks today. This was taken back in 2012 but it's still how the car looks. The rear sponsor decal has been removed and I'm not sure if I'll remove the other one yet. That sponsor buys my fuel and I haven't needed any for a while.
My car has a new IHRA number 6X87 and it still runs low 9's. Last time I tried to get an 8 second pass, I put it up on the back bumper twice before calling it a day.

Bought mine in June 2008 for $4000 at a buy here pay here, with 180,000 miles.

And this is a relatively current pic when it was still NA with 260,000 miles, original motor and trans with no rebuild. Plastidipped rims and front bumper. Black semigloss up top with the original maroon down bottom.

Now its a Megasquirt powered T3 garrett turbocharged V6, soon to be my daily driver again. Also with a vent in the hood for my TMIC.
