Did a cam swap to a solid lift cam, think I can break into the 12's now?
SubscribeLast season I ran fairly consistent 13.1's @ 112mph(non corrected @4800ft) with my engine setup with a comp 270H cam. I recently replaced it with a crane sat night special solid lift cam 288/296 ad 536/.554 GL.
I cant really tell if theres any difference (broken butt dyno) but it sounds killer and seems a little quicker down the road. It spins the tires more for sure, so Im gonna try 2 seprate lines for the air shocks so I can load the passenger side a little more. So Do you think the cam will do it or no? I want to run in a class so I can get the $5 trophy.
so I need to be in the 12's.
Thanks

it shoudl be enough to get you there. if you can cut a 1.75ish 60' and run 105+mph you will be in. sounds like the cam shopudl do it. jsut try to see what you can do with teh timing, bigger cam= more timing, especially at higher rpms.

What tires are you runnning? If your running 112 mph already, you should focus all your attention on suspension and put some slicks or drag radials on. You've got the hp., just hook it up.

Yea that what im thinking, I had used 15in MT's but the slick lane at the track sucks and I actually ran a 14.3 with slicks. 15min latter changed to street tires and got back into the 13's. What suspension mods for under $1000 will be effective? Originally posted by Steve10

Sheesh! 112 mph.
I run what you run but at 105.
You have enough power to run low 12s. Like they said, get some traction.
Drag springs, shocks, LCAs, Adjustable torque arm, etc. Go to Spohn's website at the top of the page here. He can help you out.
