87 ta 305 carb stock everything but a cat back by dyno max and how do i know what rear end i have?

 

I'd say depending on the gears you're around 16 flat. An easy way to check is do 70mph in D. If your tach reads 2730 rpms=2:73 and so on.

 

if its an auto you have 2.73s , if its a manual it should have 3.23s , i wouldnt expect any better than a mid 16 .

 

alright so your saying i have 2.73 rear end. yes its a 700r4 auto. now with that said what do you think i should be running with a crate 350 with 330 horsepower. headmen headers (shorties) and the headmen Y pipe going into a dynomax cat back?

 

Those HP rating from crate motors usually include headers and either a free flowing exhaust or open headers. You'll be into the low 14s I would think with a 330HP motor w/the gears you have. But there are other variable that could come into play.
