and notta damn person posting..what gives?

*throws in some tech talk*

im going with sunfire yellow and a 3 inch harwood cowl hood for the transam... some people say going with color keyed primer is the ticket for kickass looking paint..any truth to this..

serious question btw

and tech wise.

yellow would look good on your TA but i am not sure about match primer helping, but i don't see how it could hurt at all.

well actually...i heard that the new fbodies... dunno about older 4th gens..but i know the LS1 and v6ers get color keyed primer...*shrugS* couldnt hurt i guess but theres gotta be a reason i think

I think it has to do with the fact that only a small portion of the bodies on 4th gens are actual metal... Im not a body/paint guy but thats what I think anyways..

The only good reasons to tint your primer body color are :

1) To help hide rock chips that only go down to the primer layer.

2) To help make your paint come out looking real solid. This is only necessary if you are a bad painter, or have a nearly transparent paint.

3) If you want to see what your car will look like, but if you are going to the expense of a tinted primer, you might as well just paint the thing.

4) If you like driving a car in suede (only a good choice on nostalgic street rods imho).

Tinted primer is VERY expensive, and not worth it in my opinion. If you are going light yellow, there are standard primer/sealers in that color, so you might not need to tint.
