Exhaust Q's
Wich exhaust sounds identical to stock but noticably louder? I want something that i can hear while im driving!
Any ideas? Thanks!
Any ideas? Thanks! Nothing sounds exactly like stock, but louder... That's why it's louder. I've got a mufflex 4" with no cats running to a spintech and a tundown hidden pipe its LOUD sometimes a little too loud. If you want cheap loud go for purple hornies.. MAc makes good stuff for relatively cheap. Flowmaster is famous... you know the drill be more specific. How much power do you plan on making?
Flowmaster or Holley systems seem to be the two favorites. Holley is quieter, or at least less hollow sounding. Both brands have their adamant followers. I like the sound of the Flowmaster better myself. Check out the exhaust board. This subject has been hashed out many times, and you should be able to get just about every opinion that you need.
Dynomax is a good muffler that would be closer to stock sound but still give some rumble.

I only own 2 ½ ... nothing near as nice as any of Lance's though

btw for exhaust, I went with the "Holley" Lance mentioned, otherwise known as Hooker... went headers to tips (supercomps and aerochamber catback) ... Chevymad also has a setup similar to mine but with a different set of headers/y-pipe

No more project cars for me. Next up is a '65 GTO convert in gold/black, then probably a '62 Impala SS bubble top. Not sure beyond that.
