I know its probley been done a few time but never passes but lets try to make it happen because i myself hate front plates so i dont have one and its the only thing on my car that cops can bitch about. and i know alot of u guy hate front plates to so take the time and sign this, and even post it on other forums you maybe a part of

After seeing this post, I just signed. They just look so out of place on our cars, and it is the only thing I get pulled over for, but I have never gotten a ticket for not having it.

ya same here iv only goten pulled over for the plate and one time they thought my brother wasnt wearing his seat belt. iv been pulled over a number of times for the plate and they never give me a ticket and they only seam to do it on nice days when i have the t-tops off, i think they just use it to try to mess up my good day

If you look it is the exact same petition. Unforunately in 2+ years it has a total for 4900 signatures... not exactly a strong showing.

If someone wants to do it right they'll need some serious $$ to get all the sigs. I personally feel it could be done and the public could be convinced to pass it. I think getting the Corvette/exotic community involved would be by far the easiest way, but you'd need support from basically every car club in WA and a lot of grass roots going to the drag strip and local hang outs and getting sigs to get it on the ballot.

 

you've got mine and my wifes vote. there a lot of states that dont require a front plate. one thing i miss about michigan is the street laws. however i dont miss the road condition or the fact that you cant find a car that isnt covered in rust cause road salt.

 

ksith, what part of Michigan did you come from? That's where my family is from, I lived there for a few years and graduated high school there before enlisting in the Navy. Now that I'm out, I'm still here in Kitsap

My family is from Owosso, about 25 miles west of Flint.

Had to follow in my father's footsteps and go submarines. I'll be out 10 years at the end of this month, and been doing the commute across the Sound to Bothell ever since.

 

I NEVER put on a front plate from the day it rolled off the lot..
keep it under the seat..and would put it on the dash if thay ask me...
im in spokane WA.. never had a prob.

 

Just to let you know. My 2 buddy's are WSP and they said it will never happen.

 

Did they explain why it would never happen? Maybe because they like having a nice flat reflective peice on the front of a car to bounce a laser gun off to collect some revenue for the state? WSP says a lot... most of it is BS.

That is very funny cause the laser still works with out the plate. We tested that out. It don't bother me a bit to have to run the plate on all my rigs.

 

From what I've heard cars with pop up headlights can make it much harder for them to laser. Plus any paint that is less reflective doesn't help either. But, that really doesn't matter at all, the WSP should have zero say in laws (that isn't the case, but that is the way it should be). They really have no say in it if it put to a vote.

 

cover the back of the plate with felt.with a 2" piece of platic tube to prop it up..(in screw holes) .keep it under your seat..

if you think your going to get stopped.. pop it on your dash..

so heres one for ya. My buddy goes and buys a new ZO6. Gets stopped by WSP and ticketed for no front plate. The funny thing is he is a sheriff. So yes he did put it on and a few weeks later stop me for having in on my dash no ticket but I decided to put it on sense he did on his ZO6.They also don't like it to swing like the big rigs do. I have mine on my big lifted chevy that way. Got out of that ticket when I went to court and show pic's of all the big rigs with it. The judge drop it. I do agree we really don't need it.

 

Okay everyone....I may or may not have a problem here, but would love my fellow Northwesterns to advise me on this subject....I was born in Seattle, raised in Seattle/Lynnwood. worked there, and after my divorce 11yrs ago, have moved to South Carolina for work...now I am heading back home to Seattle May 2013, have already moved my stuff up there and placed it into storages....now due to SC not having ANY pooper sniffers there, I had modified my cars to the 10-degree...my 08 6.1 Hemi is pumping out 650hp No Cats....just muffs. as well as my Customized 88 T/A with a 04-GTO power train and agian...NO CATS....I still got SC plates so it won't be so hard to get at least one more year tabs from them before I have to change plates...question is....where in the state that does NOT have the inspections?....I well be working for the DOD on some base out there...so Brim. Tacoma. Everett. area is where I think I'll be....Flame on guy/gals...let me know before I build my home!!!
ps.. As for you home builders out there on this page, submit your info here to me, I well be building a home: 3-4,000 sq ft with a shop 60X50 detached from the house...but it well have the same shape of the home.....so....Is there anybody out there?

 

If by inspections, you mean emissions checks, somewhere in Kitsap County would work, especially if you're working with DoD, There are 3 Navy bases, all of which are one command as Naval Region Northwest, or Naval Base Kitsap - Sub Base Bangor, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and Keyport. Kitsap County has no emissions checks, and never has for the 20+ years I've been here, I'm not sure about Everett. You may however, when you register your cars her, pay a use tax because your cars were purchased out of state and sales tax was probably less than the WA 8%, you'll pay the difference of the sales tax you did pay and the WA sales tax (you may not have to if you own your cars outright).
