Cascade crew goes racing!
SIR was a blast! 85 T/A WS6 got there first. My stepson Michael and I met Craiger and bhaas at Craiger's house and we 'Camarovanned' to the track. After a few minutes AmorgetRS and Crusader showed up and we began making our runs. My first run was a disappointing 17.26 at 79mph!
By my final run, I had improved to 16.57 at 83mph. Craiger's '91 Z28 with blown TPI350 was running consistant 13.3s and 13.4s. Amorget did a quick LCA swap and dropped his ET dramatically. All of the 'crew' cars were running well and we had a great time. I just wanted to say that it was great meating you guys finally and I can't wait to do it again! Hopefully Amorget and Crusader will post some pics soon.

! The best part was meeting everyone! RS Freak and his step and then Bhass met at my house.. they got to see me stressed out, running like a chicken with head cutoff
Quick BBQ action with my spaziod dog in the way...then off to the track. Once we got to the track, I had a really good time and was finally able to relax! Then we met Don, then Doug and Jessie. THE CASCADE THIRDGEN RULED SIR! It was a pleasure meeting everyone and I am looking foward to our next venture.

I agree with bhaas, I am hooked as well! Next time I won't be so paranoid about breaking the car and will make more runs!

Well, appear to be the first back from up North, but IT WAS A TOTAL BLAST! Even though I had the slowst car of the group, and the only V-6 it was a damn fun time! I can't wait until I can do it again, maybe w/ a V-8.
I think I did some damage (somehow) to my rear end. Those new Spohn LCA's rule!
Awesome to meet every, both Don and craiger's cars are absolutely beautiful! It was sweet to finally put faces to nicknames!
Can't wait until next time!

Hey, sounds like you guys had a bunch of fun!
Anybody catch any video they can post?
Craiger, I didn't know your car was supercharged! Sounds cool, man!
Demon, one of these days you and I will actually DRIVE our cars.
I'm looking forward to running my car up there sometime. It's a long trip for me so I'll have to make it a 2 day event. Maybe the Oregon guys could come up one of these times and I'll meet them on the way there and we can all car pool over the mountains. It would be good to have a couple traliers along in case one of use breaks down. It's always helpful to travel in groups because together you can resolve most problems that may occur.

even if I could have driven the Z down there I'd have one hell of a time with traction... lol
Everyone like Doug's exhaust?
not bad for 3 trial runs and about $25 ...
I always have weird but good and effective suggestions

Brad,
Make the payment! You will save $$$ in the long run! I would go on ebay and look for a good deal on some wheels. The corvette show is comming up in june i beleive and there is sure to be a good deal there to be found! But do not miss you payment, as any payment missed means the more cash you pay in intrest! Soon, the new skin and shoes will be on, you'll see!

SIR was, like everyone else has said, just a TOTAL BlAST!! It was so cool to meet some more of the guys and put faces/cars and stuff to screen names
(No 'i' in my name btw craiger - no biggie though even my grandpa does that
) Thinking back on it, I wish I would have gotten some more pictures of everyone actually on the strip instead of only shots from the pits - next time if Freak's stepson goes (or someone else who's just along for the ride with someone) if they're willing I'll hand them my camera and extra batteries and they can snap some shots for us.
The two 'show stoppers' would have to be #1 Don in his absolutely beautiful and flawless 85, talk about a totally awesome TA. And #2 Craigers SUPERCHARGED!
Totall surprise but a nice one
As far as beeing hooked on it - can you say "I told ya so!"
Can't wait to do it again and see everyone again and hopefully see some more of the crew out there. Next time - with some more planning - we should make more of a day out of it and meet up somewhere in the Seattle/Tacoma area (nice and close to the track) fairly early in the day and then head out to the tack to be there when the gates open and get a pit area thats not in the rocks.
Anyway when I get home from school I'll get the camera downloaded and get the pictures posted. Wow that was longer than I though!

Too late Craig, I already mailed it in. I know it's not smart but I just can't resist. They sucker me into that twice a year. The stock market is looking up so I'm not too worried about the money. Unless of course it makes another turn for the worse. That sucks about your bike. If it ain't one thing it's another. I was looking at some electric cutouts for my exhaust. $250 for 2 of them. Looks like I'm gonna have to work some overtime. Want a tach with indicator light on it too. Like you said. MO MONEY, MO MONEY
I still don't think I'll be able to beat Craigs car anytime soon. That car is SWEEEEET. And blue is my favorite color. Maybe I should paint mine blue. Wouldn't show dings as bad

That was a blast !
It was great to meet you guys at SIR and see the cars up close. I sure learned alot about F-Bodies and racing yesterday.
Although I was reluctant to race at first, I can say it was an experience to remember, lol.
bhaas: Handed me my first loss on the strip,
nice race and a good running Chevy too. Whats that noise under your hood?
crusader: Dealt me my 2nd loss
It was a sight to see 2 black birds running 'em ! That was my last race and was able to break in the high 15's and that was with a 1.48 R/T
Thanks for bringing the scanner dude! Nice GTA too
craiger: Has one clean machine, appears to be a mild mannered EMT untill the hood comes up ! WOW ! A racers dream , this tightly wound package showed the gang what a F-body can do! WTG !
RSFreak: Another nice ride and turned in some decent times for a luxo-cruiser. Nice website graphics too.
AmorgetRS: I have newfound respect for the V-6 ! This bird moves like mad, I was really impressed
Ill hold a wrench for ya anytime m8!
I learned what the 2 yellow lights on top of the tree do, this will help me next time heheh
Next time I want to wage all out war on the ricers!

I thought it was cool always beeing lined up against the Crew. Only 2 races (one was a solo) I wasn't lined up with a friend. The non-solo one was a chevy truck that ran a 14.4. I lined up with RSFreak twice - Firebird vs. Camaro TPI vs. TBI: 15.860 @ 87.59 (me) vs. 16.786 @ 82.28 (Freak). I don't know why it said I won against Don cause he was faster. I ran a 15.934 @ 87.09 vs Don's 15.839 @ 87.38 guess with my blazing quick 1.184 R/T vs. his 1.408 I crossed the line first (they need a scratches head smily here) And against Bhaas I ran a 15.910 @ 86.4 vs. his 15.029 @ 92.62 No problem Don, anytime! Next time hopefully you can stay longer.

Everybody there had an automatic. Traction sucked. They also do Friday night drags, but I probably won't be making any Friday night's for a bit...

I'm in the process of stabing the trans in the hole so I'll be up and running this weekend. Then I have to get the engine patched up enough to last for the summer. After that I might be convinced to show up somewhere in oregon. If I have to wait for next summer I'll have the big block in (hopefully). Sounds like fun, Maybe you guys can plan something closer to Roshambo and I next summer when we're ready.

Whats a deadman burger, or do I want to know
There was some raunchy odors emitting from the snack shack, at least that kept the flies off of me

Now if we can get them to open the crappers next time that would be nice.

Yeah, Woodburn is pretty cool. I went there when I was in junior dragsters
The last few times I went I wasnt really pleased with the attitude of alot of people there. But, if the CC is there, then itll be cool.
BTW, 87RS402 - Which way would you drive to get there?
