QwkTrip... Did you put the 4thgen console in?

If so, how did it fit? I want to do this on mine soon. I was going to get mine from tacreations as well. Mines a maro, not a bird, but I'm sure it will work about the same. J/w if you had to do any custom cutting to get it to fit, or did it just bolt in? I'm getting 4th gen seats, and 4th gen console... provided the console will fit with the original dash...

I searched on this, and ppl said it works pretty easy, but I was wondering how it worked for you.

Jay

I did put it in but not completely. I have to trim some things up front to make it match up with the bolt holes. It's just some plastic pieces the are out of sight.

Does it fit? Well, I wish people would be a little more careful about what they say because all I heard was "It fits great!" Um... there's "fit" as in physically fits in the hole and then there's "fit" as in it looks like it belongs there. The 4th gen console falls in the first category. It physically fits in the hole but it really don't fit. First, it's too wide. It is quite a bit wider then the radio console and it looks goofy. Secondly, it doesn't have the right shape to fit up to the radio console. There's a big gap. Thirdly, it's too long. I can't lower my back seat anymore because the console extends too far back. Fourthly, it's obvious the seating position in the 4th gen is a little different because the arm rest ends up waaaaay too far back and you can only rest the very back of your elbow on it. Basically, you just lost an arm rest. You'd have to really despise the 3rd gen console to use a 4th gen console.

I'm planning on using 4gen seats also, will the armrest work once that is done? or is it the way the seats are lined up, not the style of seats? j/w

Nope, the 4thgen seats will be in the same area your 3rdgen seats are, in the 4thgen they're just positioned differently on the floorpan itself...

so you sorta answered your own question hehe

It's simply where the seats line up relative to the console. They are too far forward. If you are a tall person it will be less of a problem but I'm only 5'-9" at most. If I had an automatic I could push the seat back further but I got to reach the bottom of the clutch!
