I went to a friend of mine's house to show off my car. He has a Mustang, so I said "LET'S RACE"!

We went crusing to find a good spot.

Let's just say that when the light turned green and after the smoke cleared, all he saw was tail lights!

That'll teach him to stop talking bad about F-body's!

Sweet! So what was it a 4, 6, or 8? There is almost nothing better than wasting a 5.0, then having him ask "so, what size V8 ya got in there?" and replying "oh, its just a six, not a V8" .

What year was the Stang?? 87+ you wouldnt find 6 in one, just the 4 or 8. Even the 6's in the 79-86 had only a couple more horse's.

Blue502- Her Bird did a 18.1 (when Jesse drove it) and you are saying that a 18 second V-6 Firebird can take a low 15 sec 5.0 mustang??? (car and driver did a 14.9 in a 1993 gt) Jesse's GTA cant even beat a 87-93 Mustang 5.0 (stock for stock of course).

I'm not talking bad about F-Bod's or anything (I have a flippin' 4 cylinder Mustang for crying out loud) that was a cool car while he had it, but get the facts straight first. And yes, a lot depends on the driver... take for instance why GM High Performance claims a 305 hp Z28 does a 12.8 while Car and Driver says a 350 hp Vette does a 13.1 !?!?! hmmmmm..........

Actually I was referring to what 5.0 Rustang owners used to ask me when I still had my original V6 in my Camaro. I hate the slow *** piece of **** stock 6 thats in there now. I still haven't forgiven my former mechanic for trading in my original aluminum block V6 as a core (when I specifically told him not to, and yes that is why he is former). I couldn't even beat a Honda Civic now...

Sure it can, I've heard of a 5.0 Mustang getting beat by a 4 banger Camaro!!! Albeit the dude in the Stang needs to learn how to drive a stick, but a win is a win.

Jesse, Jesse, Jesse...... My car can beet a 4 banger Camaro! How you might ask? Look, virtually same engine and both at 88 hp, only mine weighs about 300-500 pounds less... do you actually believe every single thing on these boards?!?!? The driver must have kept that thing under 2000 rpms or started in 5th cause there is no way even with a driver who just got his license could lose... think of this way, me vs. you and me winning !!! Sounds stupid doesnt it. You know and I know there is no chance that a 4 cyl. 3400+ pound F-bod with 88hp can beet any 5.0 (or in 80-82's sake 4.2L) 3100 (or so) pound Fox Body Mustang.

Here is a something you can talk about Jesse.... yesterday on my way home from the gym a 80's Corvette was next to me and when light turned green I floor it and felt the 88 horse's trample. I let off so my car would shift at 3k like I always do and then floored it again and I was out of the inner section and he was only in the middle of it! But hey.... a win is a win right?!?!?! Now I can say that I read at a message board that a 4 cyl. mustang beet a 85+ corvette .

OMG is that Jesse's lil brother here to be converted??

Crista and I raced an 1/8 mile stretch a few times and she pulled on me the entire time! She's really smooth and quick with her gears without rapping out her clutch. And now I guess, her best friend wants a 3rd gen Camaro! Hee hee! We do have the power to influence the younger generation, people!

Jake, sorry to say... but an Iron Duke Camaro would stomp ya

They weigh less, they wind up a lot quicker and they're more or less a race engine (surprisingly)

Hell, my Camaro doesn't even weigh 3400 with me in it

4banger camaro's are light hehehe

Yeah but an SVO would beat an Iron Duke, and maybe even a mid 5.0 F-Bod (85 had 205hp). The Iron Duke has like a 7+ redline according to Jesse and mine has a 5400 redline. But atleast I have a vastly superior OHC you push-rod punks, u and your 5k redlines, jeeze.
I was just guessing on the F-Bod weight Aaron. Mine is more like 3k-2900 pounds anyways.

my redline is more like 6k

Thats not that bad considering the sad 5k redline on jesse's 305, which is an 88 and I am pretty sure that an 88 Stang has a higher redline. What about the 5k redline on the mighty 2.5?? I know people with Fiero's that are as old as mine with that.

I highly doubt your Camaro Aaron is within 250 pounds of my car..... but who cares! its a stupid four cylinder.

As for the Geo..... dont make me laugh

I dont think that engine puts out 88 hp!! maybe 50 hp max!! and it doesnt sound better if I disconnect my exhaust before the cat and muffler!!

Jake Jake Jake... There is a difference between road racing (where the ol' 4 popper beat the 5.0 and I do believe Doug knows the guy) and drag racing... There is also a difference between racing and not racing... Just cause you accelerate faster than the Vette next to you doesn't mean you beat him. Sooo get with the GM program here bro! One more thing, look at my member status and watch what ya say I might just have to censor some of your posts (f*rd)

Oh and yes Summer that is my bro, but Aaron Doug and I haven't had any luck converting him (although he listens to Doug and Aaron better than me ) so its an uphill battle...

Like I said, dont even bother tring to convert me. I'm just here to keep the b.s. (like the 4 cyl. Bird beeting the 5.0) in check. Jesse u may be the moderator but I am bigger/stronger than u and I know where u sleep, eat, heck I even work with u j/k. I am not gonna post any crap that would **** u off so dont worry.
As for listening to Doug and Aaron I dont soak up all the biased info you GM guys (and gals) try to feed me as fact

Yeah, mine only redlines at 5k, but, if I hit the V-tec, then dizamn if I dont redline at 56k YO! Ok, if my verizon V-tec kicks in, I can only redline at like 11.5k!!

Yes, in a street race I do know of a 4 banger Camaro beating a 5.0 Mustang... the guys name is Pony Killer (TJ in RL) and I met him on my trip. The reason his name is PK is due to the fact his 4 banger Camaro was dubbed the "Pony Killer Express" after he beat that Mustang.
Maybe someday I will be willing to repeat the story, with sound effects and all

So you see, I actually know a guy with a CIVIC who beat an ls1 in a street race Now Doug, do I beleive he could win in any race vs. that ls1?? No way!! Could a 4cyl. F-Bod beat a 5.0 Mustang in any fair race? NO! Do you see me telling the whole world about a Civic killing a ls1??? No! Come on guys, post a kill that is beleivable.
You might say 'well no one know's these people' well Jesse knows both of them (Paul was the Civic driver and David R. was the other dude.

Ponitac put out a 272 horse Iron Duke (show/race) in the early 80's so he would kick yours, mine, Doug's, Don's, Lance's (untill the 502 goes in ) butts' quite nicely.

A fair race is both cars lined up with the drivers not having too much experiance between them (me vs. you would be as about the biggest gap of experiance to make it fair) and both of them shifting to atleast 500 rpm of the redline/powerpeek. Okay, Okay... one more. And the driver matters???? You can't even spin the tires! A chimp could drive any one of these cars and you'd get the same results! Although, the chimp might do better because he's so light. BTW, can one trully leave the other in the dust or is it kind of like after 15 seconds you might gain 1/2 car length?
