While, that one wasn't as bad as some of them. but your right, the idea that the f-body's weren't selling becuse of the rear seating size, or the cat. hump is stupid. but i do think he hit the nail on the head at the end when he quoted the GM employee

another thing is price. they sell for around 30G's. Does anyone know the age group for Camaros and Firebird owners? Not 36 or 41. more like 20's. THey're to expensive and the limited room does take away from propsective 36-41 y/o's who want one. But I'm glad theyr'e going instead of the name being slapped on a toyato platform like hte Nova was.

I don't necessarily buy the price thing and here is why: Compare our beloved F-body's with their competition from the blue oval girls er boys... New Cobra which performs not as good as a new SS/WS6 is MORE MONEY! Sure some of the SS/WS6/Firehawks fully loaded reach the 30k mark. But the rest are aroudn 23k or so. But look at this in 99 the Firebird Formula popular mechanics tested had an as tested price of 26 g's NOT 30... Ford sells mustangs by the 100,000's they advertize and sell V6 cars and some GT's to women by the lot full. I doubt the sell nearly as many Cobra's as GM sells V8 F-body's... But who buys F-bodys? People like us, and we want performace so we buy the V8's. GM has built us an enthusiast car, Ford gave people a chick car/car for the masses. And Ford advertizes...

Like dewey quoted, this is right on the money.

And I agree with Jess, the real screw up from GM was that all they advertise is anything BUT the F-body, then they in turn kill it because its not selling. Well DUH!

Its sad when the only Camaro commericial I have seen in the last 2 years has been one advertising oil, and it was a 3rdgen. GM needs to grow some brass ones, and fire thier advertising department, and recruit from Honda and Nissan, because frankly, those guys know how to excite a buyer. Hell, have you guys seen the new Maxima and Sentra commericials? They are quite cool, and I know they will sell cars from them. You have to EXCITE the buyer and get them interested in what your pushing. Even I know that!

GM pisses me off sometimes.
