Hey i was wondering if this symtom would be for a broken tranny mount, it started doing it this week.

what it does is, when i start in first, the tranny shakes, and i can hear what sounds like knocking on the bottom of the floor pans? i though it might be a tranny mount, cause of the location of where the sound seems to be comming from. also it only does it in first , and when i go over bumps, potholes, ect.

so if this is a symtom of a broken tranny mount, how do i check to make sure?

TIA,
John

Put a floor jack under the tranny and lift. If the tranny lifts away from the crossmember you found your problem. But keep in mind you don't need to lift very hard. I don't want my suggestion to cause you do break your tail housing!
