Is it a camaro or not?
Is it a camaro or not?
I have a question hoping you guys/girls could answer...
When does a camaro /firebird stop becoming a camro/firebird..
example..A lot of people are now bying crate engines and higher nd performance parts,so lets say for theory..I buy a crate engine for my iroc .add another 1,000 dollars to performance and i beat a near stock third gen.Did the guy get beat by a iroc?or not?
I hope this isnt confusing..cuz im confused now..lol

In my opinion, it will always be a Camaro/Firebird, the way they SHOULD have built it. Heck, if it was a GM crate motor, I would still consider the car to be factory with a GM replacement motor. I hope that makes sense, I think I just hurt my brain trying to find tires to get to the gathering.

A car remains what it was when it came from the factory. A sport coupe or RS with every IROC part will never be an IROC. Consider this if it gets too confusing: If someone puts a Ferrari body kit on a Pontiac Fiero, is it now a real Ferrari? No, it is a Fiero kit car. So to answer your question, yes the guy got beat by an IROC (assuming it was an IROC to begin with).
Of course there are lots of look alike fakes out there, but it is illegal to knowingly mis-represent a vehicle as another model, and you could even get burned if you don't know. I've seen in the musclecar world where a base 6 banger Camaro has been upgraded to Z-28 status including fake trim tag and fake stampings on the engine to make it look matching #s, and then an owner finds out the truth, and sues the seller for double damages. Now it doesn't matter if the seller knew or not, or was the one who did the faking. The buyer will win from the seller, and if the seller bought it that way it is up to him to sue the person he bought it from, and so on. That is the convulted way the law works.

I have an 82 SC that originaly had a 102hp 173cid 2.8L and th200 3spd auto, you all know about the crappy little grandma car they were
well when I got it, it was in very rough shape, it had been in 6 accidents with the last owner alone(none had even been repaired), someone attacted it with an axe, shot it up with a gun, and the interior was torched(oh ya, the motor and trans were toast too).
so after replacing every body panel and adding 85 gfx and a z28 hood, adding a 330hp 355cid small block and th350, and replacing the interior with Z and Iroc pieces...
It is still a 82 Sport Coupe base model Camaro
and even though it is still in primer and is far from complete Dewey's right, those ricers and mustang dorks just got there ***'s handed to them by a base model
