If any of you have the parts lyin around, I'd like to buy them from you. Did this happen to anyone else? I know Baer n' Edlebrock sell heavy duty tie-rod sleeves... but my friken tie-rod itself snapped in half!

 

Ouch! I checked out the pic in your link. I've never seen that happen before. A bunch of us sometimes do junkyard runs so we might be able to pick one up for you the next time one of us goes.

Also, "HI85WH1" (Robert) here just finished parting out an 89 RS. He junked the car awhile ago but he might have some steering stuff still lying around. He's a stand up honest guy & very cool to deal with so pm him to check for parts too!

There are others who make the sleeves. I wouldn't buy anything that important from edelbrock. Or from bmr. That's just because they don't have a great reputation- I've personally never had problems with their crap.

There's an '86 at Ft Shafter that I'm going after this friday. If you want something from it, let me know and I'll try to rip it off. All the steering is there. Or, you can come along and hack at it yourself. It opens at 1130. I'll pm you my cell number.

Also, Moog makes new tie rods, and I'm sure Napa or CarQuest carries Moog (maybe under their own or another brand name).
