GPS Installation

Because I'm navigationally challenged and direction-deaf, I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS. Lemme tell ya, it rocks big-time. Has all of HI, AK and Mainland maps installed and guided me to James's house to pickup Camaro parts no problemo ... and that's the ultimate test IMO. It calls out the directions using street names, but the little speakers can't cope with IROC-sound levels, so I connected the headphone output jack to the audio input front panel port on the Sony CD player and I can cruise with a gig of MP3's playing from the Garmin memory storage while the little-girly guidance voice urges me to turn-here and turn-there. It's so accurate there's no need to watch the 3D street maps scrolling. Oh, another thing is it's portable and the lithium battery runs for about six hours in my pocket, heh, so no need leave it in the car to be ripped-off. The 350 comes with new-gen satellite chips and even works inside the car and my house without an external antenna. this means for trips of less than four hours, just turn it on and go, no external battery hookup. It just sits in the ashtray area doing it's thing. This is a necessary upgrade for my move to the mainland and endless road trips. Highly recommended, but be prepared to shell out $700-800.
