LS1 Brake brackets laser cut
Anyone need some LS1 brake brackets? They're the ones everyone is using in the LS1 brake thread . They're 5/16 thick and they're made from GR50 steel which is a step above the junk everyone usually has laying around. The holes are all undersize so you can play around with some of the different fastener ideas mentioned in the thread. $55 for 2 shipped paypal only, continential usa serpent99@charter.net

They're selling pretty well but I still have some left. One thing I would like to point out is you need to read the whole LS1 and C4 brake thread so you fully understand what this is all about. One thing that concerned me was the problem some people were having with the bolts coming loose, I considered they may be coming loose because the material used to make the mount may be too soft, for this reason I chose GR50 as it's a little harder but it can still be drilled and tapped if needed. I'm not saying I have all the answers, I just want everyone to know I took some time to look into this whole subject and I want to offer everyone a quality part.

I want the first of those 5. Actually, I wanted one of this set, but I didn't have the cash.
Oh well, I'll be watching for the next batch.

I wont take money until I have them in my hand and they're ready to ship. I'll post as soon as they're here. If anyone wants any in a different thickness or different shape let me know. Also- for those of you who may be unfamiliar with laser cut parts- there's a fine layer of scale on the cut edge, wipe it off with a wire brush before you paint the brackets. If you don't, the scale will flake off along with the paint.

I just received 5 new sets. TheGreatJ, Black 91 Z28,
jonarotz, and WhiteBlaze got dibs on four. If they don't claim them then I'll let someone else take them. Anyway, Who wants to claim the last set? I'll hold them until Saturday. If I get enough interest I'll get more made.
I just finished my conversion. I'm going to post a new thread with pictures as soon as I get a chance

Check out the thread I started in the brakes forum. I have the LS1 brakes in front and the iroc disks in the rear now. The car stops great! The whole swap cost me about $160 including new hoses and wheel bearings. One thing I fprgot to mention- Mark the position of the bolt heads with a spot of paint. Makes it real easy to chek to see if anything is coming loose.

I used 1/2 inch coarse grade 8 bolts to hold the bracket to the spindle and I used the stock LS1 bolts to hold the caliper mount to the bracket. I had to cut the bolts down, that was really easy to do with a chop wheel mounted in my angle grinder. I cleaned everything really well and used red locktite.

I drilled all the holes to 1/2 inch in mine
My parents taught me to treat people the way you want to be treated.
Glad you all like the parts.

LS1 brackets
what modifcations, if any, would be needed to install C5 brakes using these brackets?

you would have to read the threads, but I think you would have to move some holes a little and the bracket would have to be thicker. I don't get any requests for the C5 bracket but there is a drawing on the C5 thread. I could have them made out of the thicker material but it would cost more. Check the thread and send me the drawing and what thickness you want and I'll get a price.
This goes for anything laser cut. Give me a drawing or a request and tell me what thickness you need. Some programs I already have like small block header flanges so no drawing would be needed on something like that. I can cut steel up to 1" thick, stainless up to 3/4 thick and aluminum up to 1/2 thick. When you get near the limits on these materials it starts to become very costly but the thinner more comon stuff I can usually get a good price.

PayPal is preferred but if you can't do that send me an email off line and we'll work something out. Do you have any friends with a pay pal account?
Would anyone be interested in a C4 or C5 version? I just need a few people interested to get things rolling.

I have 5 sets on there way through UPS from my supplier. One set is claimed and paid for. 4 set are unclaimed. The next 4 pay pals I receive get those, they'll ship this week. anyone after that gets theirs in another week or 2. I love driving my car with these brakes. Hauling *** and stopping fast is fun.

You'll have to read all the info and decide for yourself. There's links to some threads, here's my experience. It cost me less than $200 to do mine. The brakes are awesome.

I have two sets of extra spindles and rotors?

I just need a drawing for the brackets and I need to know what thickness they are. I can mod the spindles and cut down the rotors into hubs. I'm not at all famliar with the C5 swap but I'll look into it. I know you need 17" rims but I don't know if you need longer wheel studs or anything like that. I'll pM you my phone number.
