TH350 Parts!
I need a speedo cable drive for a th350. I got my TCI street fighter transmission today and noticed the shaft gear fits but the speedo gear is way off. Much larger than the hole for the th350. So I need the speedo cable connector and the fork that holds it down.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you currently have an electronic speedo then you need a tail houseing off a BOP turbo 350. There hole is bigger for the elect. speedo to fit in.

I have a cable driven speedo. But the cable drive from my 700r4 is physically bigger than the one for my th350*. Also if it matters this is a 9'' tailshaft th350.

I know the BOP turbo 350's had the bigger hole that you need but with you haveing the 9" tailshift tranny then the BOP tail houseing is not an option. They never made a long tailshaft BOP Th350 tranny.
Good luck with your search.

So your new transmission came with an empty hole in the side of the tailhousing?

Yes. A hole with a small plug in it. For some reason I was expecting my 700r4 one to work. I think the gears are the same. But the cable drive/gear holder is definetly not the same.

I am assuming this is what I am looking for?
http://tciauto.com/components/speedometer_gears.htm
It is the GM driven gear housing. Style I for powerglides and th350s? It looks like what I need. Wonder how much this is gonna cost....

thats the one you need....I bet a tranny shop or junk yard can hook you up....worst case i bet GM still sells it. Your gonna have to figure out which drive and driven gears your gonna need also..thats if you want the speedo to be accurate....

My 700r4 shaft gear fit perfect. I was assuming both gears would work correctly but I am not positive.
Local junkyard only has "good" transmissions. So I couldn't get the piece off of them. But I did see a few.

By "shaft" gear, you're talking about the drive gear on the output shaft? The one from the 700R4 will fit, but I don't think it will mate with the smaller driven gear that you'll need.

you have to get the proper combination between drive and driven gear... its based on tire size and rear gear ratio...

I was under the impression that both of my 700r4 gears would work.
The output shaft gear was identical insize. Except the one that came with the th350 was purple.
Someone old me that the gears were the same in a th350 and a 700r4. That could be very wrong I do not know. I guess I may have to drive around with no speedo for awhile.
Because I plan on swapping rearend gears eventually. But I don't want to buy a set for my 2.73s to get 3.42 gears down the road.

The gears are the same if you have the BOP tailhousing, that uses the larger 2" driven gear housing. You have the 7/8" housing. It's hard to fit a 2" gear into a hole that's only 7/8" wide.
How many teeth were on your purple gear?
