I have a 350 4-bolt non roller...

you'd need some retro lifters and a cam button to make it into a roller ready block... let me know...

$140 + ship...

What is the block number? Is it a long block? Parts included? How are the bores and are there any cracks?

I have an L98 shortblock I am selling. I would have to pull the pan to check the mains for how many bolts, unless someone here knows whether L98 are two or four bolts and could save me some time.

I am looking for $250 for the shortblock and am located about 20 minutes south of green bay Wi, right off highway 41.

Let me know if this would interest you.

It's actually this engine disassembled...

http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?P...dID=24755&HS=1

I no longer have the valve covers...

Mileage is unknown... previous owner said the owner before him dropped it in... By the condition... i'd say about 50k miles... The bores are perfect but smooth, which means the hone crossthatching is gone which indicates that it does have a few miles on it...

I have all the parts which were in good working condition when disassembled... the pistons have some carbon build up on top, but they are otherwise in great shape... A couple of the rings broke while pulling the engine apart, but I have the pistons, rods, mains, crank, heads (assembled), cam, valvetrain, water pump, power steering pump, mech fuel pump, fan, some misc. pulleys, oil pan, oil pump, timing set, and I think the alternator... also have a dist with accel coil, some used accel wires, and the flexplate...

I was thinking $140 + ship for just the bare block, but if you could swing $240 + ship you can have all that stuff I mentioned above and any other little things I find laying around that went to it...

Let me know...

I have the original L98 short block out of my GTA. It has never been apart or messed with. It is still assembled and it has about 80000 on it. I sold the heads and oil pan. I am near Peoria, IL. I will trade for some good parts or I probably would let it go for 150 if you come and get it.

Why did you pull it? Block number, bore/block pictures?

Well I never claimed it was a 4 bolt main block. I am pretty sure most l98s were not. I pulled the engine because I built a 383 vortec headed engine to replace it. I drove the car right up until I swapped it. I will have to get some pictures tomorrow afternoon as it is stored out at my shop. I think the cam may still be installed also, but I reused the retainers and spider that holds the retainers.

I got a 4 bolt main L98 5.7 liter block. i think the block was out of a Corvette. The block is bare at this time but has been totally worked over by a local machine shop. It was magnaflexed, cleaned, mains were align bored, bored 30 over, align honed w/ a torque plate, had ARP main studs for a windage tray installed, fresh cam bearings and cost me $620 in machine work alone. I also have the matching set of SRP(JE) low compression (i think 9.2 to 1) forged pistons that the block was honed to. Also, I have an Eagle 4340 forged crank and many other goodies. Oh, before I forget, the above components are all for a 383 (and all brand new in box). I also have a complete 383 (2 bolt though) with Sportsman II heads and a full Lingenfelter set up. It has approximately 4500 miles on it (100 miles on heads and lingenfelter set up). I have a beefed up 700r4 trans with 100 miles on it, a used B&M 2400 Holeshot converter and a brand new in box 3200 Midwest Converter (w/ anti-ballooning plate). This is just a few of the items, I have much more... many cams (hydraulic rollers, solid rollers), lifters, oil pans, pushrods(all brand new). I also got a Spohn Torque arm with 100 miles on it. I live on the northwest side of chicago. let me know if you or anyone else needs anything. Just to let you know the 2 bolt 383 is still in the car, as is the trans. I will also have an 89 black GTA hardtop roller for sale soon (as soon as I pull that motor and trans out). It is a solid car with no rust, a great interior, and the 9 bolt houses US Strange 3.73 gears (cost me over $400 new for these). I am selling all my crap because I am tired of looking at it. You can email me at nes_t_1@yahoo.com. Like I said I have a lot of small block chevy stuff, just not what you see on here. Ask me and I'll let you know if I have it.... Thanks for looking, Mike.
