Don't use the stock wires for your new stereo. Just unplug it and leave it alone. Wire it to the fuse box, there are several female plug in locations available. You will need one that is live all the time and another that is live when the car is started or the key turned back. Both types are there. You can even wire the hot at all times wire to the battery which is even better tho I have never had a problem with line noise from any F-body. As far as the mounting kit goes, grab one at Wallmart, Circut City, Best Buy ect. They go for about $10. Should be cheaper than the price of the kit + shipping.
