Scanmaster Now FINALLY Available For Boosted '7749 and '7730 F-Body's...

Long overdue. For those who are running the '7749 ECM for their boosted application, the Scanmaster has finally been released. Yes, it is compatible with Code 59 users. Will also work with the '7730 w/$8D mask, but the datastream must first be reconfigured to work properly. It's about time...

Spoke w/Eric, he will reconfigure the datastream so that it can be used for the $8D '7730 users if there is enough interest from the F-Body community...

Datastream is essentially the same through the ALDL. The normal price is $269, but he's going to do an intro price of $249 until the end of January. Bob Bailey's scanmaster's were only available for the Grand Nationals for the longest time, then the LT1's, now finally we'll see them for the '7749's and '7730's...

Not bad! I wouldnt mind trying this, as it looks nice but I already have enough gauges to do everything I need at the moment. Boost/map, and air fuel ratio... I use the lap top to log everything else. This would be redundant at the moment, but would fit my interior alot better and be cleaner.

That is exactly what I am after, no more laptops in the car, cleaner interior, and as few gauges as possible. Other than the scanmaster which is already pretty compact, I'm only running a boost gauge and LC1 in the a-pillar. Seeing what the ECM see's on the fly everyday w/out the need for a laptop really is long overdue...

Shouldn't be too difficult finding a location. I have something in store for mine when I get it, but I'll wait until it is installed before I start a thread on fabricating where and how. Some of the TTA guys get pretty creative with the location of them too though...

Turbo Tweak, but Eric is waiting on a larger count of members to alter the data stream for the 7730's. If you want to compile a list of other member's so that he can get started on that, at least twenty in my opinion to make it worthwhile for him, he will get started. I'll be the first to get it started...

730 fan here too. If it doesn't require a pre-order, then you can add me to the list.
Thank you

I don't think Eric will require one, as he just needs to see if there is any interest before he gets started. The 7730's are essentially the same ECM as the 7749's, and would be a breeze for him to alter the data stream. I'm gonna put you on the list with me, then invite Eric over to this thread so he can get into more detail for everyone. I haven't even posted this thread in the DIY/PROM boards yet...

The LO3's use the '8746 ECM's, and the data stream is quite different. I'm sure someone would be able to get it to read correctly with time, but that would require additional work though...

I think when Bob Bailey first introduced this, he targeted the Grand National crowd, then later the OBII crowd. So much time has passed, and now that they're slowly but surely being available for other early ECM's, many member's had already went the Megasquirt/DFI/XFI route. Still good to have though, and I'm going to get my hands on one for my new build thread. On a side note too, I gotta ask Bob if it is compatible with EBL users...

I'm still up in the air on this one. I need to complete my build before I look into dataloggers and add ons like this. Nice feature but the main items I need to look at I have gauges for. Not sure i want to delete them or redo the layout.... like I said, up in the air

Orr, what are you running, the '7749 w/$59 mask, or '7730 w/$59 mask...?

730 with the $59 right now. If I need more fuel I gotta decide if I want peak and hold injectors or the new high impedance designs they have up to 120lbs hr. I think my 80's turned up to 58psi base pressure will be enough for anything I'd need so doubt I'll need a 749 ecm

This looks nice, but isn't it just a different display but same features as TunerView II

Different display, but I tend to compare it with the Datamaster, albeit a more compact version. TunerView's are very popular with the Import crowd, and they are nice don't get me wrong, but I would never install one of them in my GTA...

yes tunerview is too bulky, if there was a double din setup for the radio that might be the only place it would look right.
