Timing...
A few questions..Please answer
I will be getting a kit REAL soon. I was told by EVERYBODY that i have talked to as well as what i have read that you MUST retard the timing. It is 2 degrees for every 50 HP right? Im planning on getting the MSD 6AL. Is there a timing retard that plugs right into it? I saw one for a timing advance but not retard. Is this set as from STOCK timing? Id have to check my current timing.
A LITTLE off topic but i was told that you need to have the jets around 8in from the TB. Since im Speed Density ill have to have some sort of CAI. (When i got the car there was already a K&N mounted right on the TB) Is it possible to Completly HIDE the system? I have a audio system in the rear well. So my choices for the bottle mounting are either in the spare tire well or behind the front pass seat. Will it be ok behind the seat? Another question, how does the bottle need to be mounted? straight? 45*? flat?
As you can tell i dont know a whole lot. Im gettin a pretty good deal on this system. It was off of a TBird but my friend is a NX Dealer and said there were a few parts that i would need to get to convert it over but other then that it will work. I was also told to only use it in third gear. Should i not use it when the tranny is shiftin? seein how now i end around the end of third will it efect that at all as to where i have to shift into 4th? If so, is there anyway i can get rid of the problem that it wont shift into 4th at full throttle?
Am i missin anything? I want to have everything before i install it.
