What Heads are you True Nitrous guys runnin?
What Heads are you True Nitrous guys runnin?
Im not asking the guys that are stock with a shot on it, but I want to know the guys that are sprayin over or around 200, I was opting for aluminums, but I think Im gonna go with some Irons, what do you have and what would you recommend?
My setup is a 350, .30 over, TRW forged pistons, balanced lower end, fluid damper.

AFR's. They've got a thick deck, resist detonation, have huge exhaust flow to help make up for the nitrous shot. I'm running the AFR 210's and a 250 direct port shot on my firebird. For your 350 I'd go with the 195's.

AFR's are the heat! they started the whole trend of thicker decks for better sealing. but now most manufacturers heads have a .490-.550" thickness. I like the TFS 23 degrees.

Not counting the actual strength of the head (deck thickness), you have to consider one thing especially: exhaust port flow.
The reason is that when nitrous is in liquid form it takes up hardly any space (intake and intake ports in heads), but once it ignites in the cylinder, it expands big time. You need to have a good exhaust port to clear out the chamber. Second, the better the exhaust flow to intake flow the better, anything over 80% is excellent (Dart 2 200cc run only about 65-70%), the AFRs are in the right range for that characteristic. I use ported L98 heads that have a really good (and small) exhaust port, plus the heads flow 82% exhaust to intake flow. Couple that head with a split duration cam (more duration on exhaust) and you have a car that runs to full potential on nitrous. I run a single pattern cam, but only because the exhaust port is so strong.
