Question on making 305 turbo
Question on making 305 turbo
I talked to a guy today that can make custom headers so i can do twin turbo on my 305 the question is is there enough room and does anyone know what to lower the compression to? I planned to run about 20 psi and info would be greatly apprecaited thanks...

TT has been done. Look at www.skulte.com, he has a nice setup. 20 PSI is quite a lot... that isn't somthing you can just throw on a stock motor. Most people here with a power adder are running 8-12 PSI. Search the board a little and pick up a book called "Maximum Boost" it is VERY informative.
I assume that you will want to run junkyard turbo's. Have you decided what car you are going to get them from? Turbo specs are a very important part of the build up.

There is room, If ur building a TPI it can work, but if its a TBI dont waste ur time. 20PSI is way too much especially for a 305. Go with a 8.5.1 compression and 4 or 5 lbs of boost on each turbo, Ur also gonna need custom intercoolers. Yes they will fit your third gen. its all about the benjamins:lala:

:nono: why would u go to the trouble of dropping compression of the 305(or anyother engine).i say u leave the 305 alone at 9.5-1(stock compression). install forged pistons if your really serious and plan on running the 20 psi.by the way at 20 psi and that compression, race gas is pretty mandatory.
have fun
