Will she Blow up?

All my friends are telling me I'm crazy for running nitrous. There saying I'm gunna blow the engine within the first tank I run.

Are they right? Here's some engine history for you..

#1. 1987 T/A LG4 with 170k's.

#2. I'm running a 50hp shot.

#3, Changed stock fuel pump to a high press. Carter pump.

#4. Changed stock coil with an MSD coil

#5. changed Distrib, added 8mm wires, and new plugs

#6, The day I spray, I will retard timing 2* or so.

The engine runs very well for it's age. I have no Knocking, she don't burn oil, and still has lots of power.
My tank is installed, all wiring/plumbing is in and ready to go. My freinds are the ones holding me back with the doubt.

None of them do any hotroding at all and I'm not sure why I'm listening to them, but they definetly got me scared to inject.

From the resaerch i've done, the only bad thing about my setup is the milage on the engine. However, because of the small shot and other upgrades i've done, I sould be fine as long as read my plugs and watch for warning signs. Right?

Lay it out for me guys. Are bad things gunna happen?

definitely playing safe with the 50 hp shot I would say 75hp is ok on a mechanical pump and a T-fitting, but anything higher (carbed only) I like a separate dedicated fuel line and pump or a huge pump (no little blue pumps except when used as separate dedicated system pump)

You should be fine on such a small shot.
If your engine burns excessive oil with that high mileage, keep an eye open for detonation.

My friends say the same thing but all they know is that dumb guy from the Fa** and the Fu***** saying "NAWS ISN'T FOR AMATUERS!" or whatever bs was fed to them through that dumb movie. I'd say you're ok as long as that fuel pump is up to the challenge.
