Does anyone know about a roots style supercharger for vortec heads? Does one exist? It would have to have the proper supercharger intake manifold for the design of the heads and it would be for carburation not the injection system that originally came on the vortec heads. I know I could get a centrifugal style to work but I like the caracteristics of the roots type.

 

I don't think anyone has made one yet. I have wondered the same thing. Have you seen the new HOT ROD mag? It has a centrifugal vortech super charger for carbs. I'm thinking of using one on my next build up. There is also a formula running 10's in that issue. It is the August 2002 issue.

 

A guy by the name of Shane Buss put a roots on vortec heads. I think he had the heads drilled and tapped to accept the early intake manifold and then did a little filling / port matching on the intake.

 

Are there any articles on the mods? how much power did he make? Any other problems? Im really interested in doing this, but being one of the poineers is going to be tricky.
