nitrous/ratio

Hi
I have got a second hand nitrous kit which does not use jets its a plate setup with two rods with 4 small holes in each which i think must metre the flow,
the nos soleniod would not open under bottle pressure, i think the orifise has been drilled out as it was about 2.5 mill id, so i had a smaller 1.4mm id one made up to correct this.
The kit was rated at 150 hp apparantly, should i us jets with this kit or will the plate rods supply the right mixture?

it sounds like you have a NOS powershot kit. it is fixed at 125 HP. the HP that you will get IS metered by the plate on that kit. I would never use any second hand nitrous metering components that have been modified. call and order the SUPER powershot half kit which includes a plate that takes jets, the jets, and the carb mounting studs. if your selenoid has been modified, get a new one of those too.

thanks for the info on that kit, it does have NOS cast into the plate so i would say thats what it would be.
The actual metering rods havent been modified just the solenoid which should work ok now.
Im going to use a carter electric fuel pump to run the nos side of things, what pressure should i set it up at. I was thinking of around 5 psi when the soleniod is open does this sound about right?

throw that modified selenoid in the trash. the orafice is precision and should never be screwed with.
