10.36@130 on a 150 shot

Well, went to the track on friday, and ran a new best on the motor and on the spray. motor pass was a 11.35@118, and the pass on the nitrous was a 10.36@130. That was with the NX wet kit jetted for 150hp. Needless to say I am very pleased with my times on the motor, and the spray!

Please answer these

Wow, damn! Hey, what are your shift points? How do those track ones compare to an afr 190? 210? Are those heads ported? Flowed? Is that a shark nozzle? Could you tell me your fuel pressure, nitrous pressure and jetting? What size injectors? What exhaust in complete detail? Is the SFI or batch fire? Did you tune that on a dyno? What are your 60 foot times? Thanks

Bumpa,yup,its a production(read thin cylinder walls) 400 2-bolt co
nverted to splayed 4-bolt billet caps.
Gofaster, here ya go: It has a .510/.525 232/242@.050 114LSA hyd. roller that is shifted at 6100. My Track-1`s are unported and haven`t been flowed, however the bowls have been blended and the chambers smoothed. They have a 215cc intake runner and have plenty of room to grow should I need it.
That`s an NX Shark nozzle with a 62 nitrous pill and a 33 fuel, which is down from the 35 NX says to use for 150hp. The 35 was too rich (car would surge).I have the NX heater and run N20 pressure at 1000 psi. Fuel pressure is 50# thru 36# injectors controlled by a batch-fire FAST system w/ a wide band o2,never been on a dyno.
On ET Streets n/a it 60`s in the high 1.5`s footbraking the converter. On the spray it`s best is a 1.46,however on the 10.36 it spun a little and I got a 1.51. Think my tires are going south.
The exhaust consists of 1 3/4" hooker long-tubes into 2 3" pipes that merge into a Flowmaster Y just past the trans mount, then it`s 4" over the axle into a Flowmaster muffler. I used the Mufflex kit. I have another set of pipes that go between the headers and Y that have cats so I can pass DE tailpipe emissions (along with a program change)
Any more ?s, fire away!
Thanks,
Glen

Job well done! A single digit pass looks very possible.

The air inlet tubing before the throttle body has a nice oval shape(to nicely attach to the oval throttle body).

Did you make that? If so, please give details.

Thanks

Where did you get the pipes made up with the cats? I am in the same boat with the same year car with the same motor practically. Did Mufflex fabricate them for you?

Did you use the angle plug or straight plug heads?

Thanks guys
Found someone with a scanner, should be posting time slips soon.
The CAI is made up of 4" exhaust parts bought from a heavy truck supply house made by myself and Blownbird. We mocked it up in my garage and then Don installed the nozzle bung and welded everything. The TB end was made by squeezing the pipe in a 6" vise untill we got it as oval as possible. It goes straight down thru the battery tray into a 90 and 12" K&N which is almost parallel with the bottom of the car`s nose.
One point to note about it...I only gained about half a tenth switching from the stock stuff to this,on or off the spray,so it`s another example of the capability of the factory setup.
The "emissions" pipes are 2.5" with the shortest cats available from Catco. A friend of mine at a muffler shop made them up. they bolt to the headers and slip into the Y with band clamps.

It`s legal as far as the state of DE is concerned!!They test your emissions at the tailpipe, idle and at 2500,and your fuel tank for vapor leaks.Adding the cats makes the most difference. As for cruising and driveability, it runs great, mostly because of the wide-band.I have someone else drive while I work the tables.Gas mileage sucks with the 3 speed but it`s not a priority anymore. My local track is about 45min. away and I`ve driven 2hrs 1 way to a cruise a couple times with no mechanical probs.I did however find out the hard way that big efi fuel pumps don`t like paper filters in front of them. It still would be nice to have a trailer though!

It has the factory front suspension with urethane bushings, stock brakes. The rear like the front uses the same part # springs/shocks as it did new.Pinion angle with the lift bars is set at -3*.I always use ET Streets and just went to 12.5s instead of 11.5s
The trans uses stock ratios and has a standard pattern manual valve body.Converter flashes at 3800 and i footbrake it to 2500 to launch.
It still has power windows, locks, steering and brakes, all 4 factory seats and carpet with an 8 point chromoly roll bar.
Weighs 3330#
Details on the Formula?
Thanks,
Glen

Formula is stock appearing (metal hood etc.) 406 bowtie block, lunati rotating assembly, solid roller cam, WP sportsman heads 10:1, TPIS miniram, Accel DFI, 700r4 w/ vigilante convertor (3500) Strange 12-bolt w/ 4.11 gears. Best of 12.20 @ 111 firing on 7 cylinders. Found out that one lifter got crushed and intake valve was not opening...that would explain the shake in the motor i guess. Rebuilding now with either Brodix or AFR heads, higher compression and a single stage wet kit. Car weighs 3500 with driver (including full interior and factory A/C)
