I have a 350tpi and factory tranny I got the car it doesn't like to go from 2nd to 3rdand when I pulled the carpet to steam clean it, I found a nos cable could nos on the motor kill the tranny?

sorry for all the questions, i'm 16 and pretty new to messing with all of this and this will be my first car and I want it to run right and I want to know all I can about it.

 

It could.. I mean.. it's a lot of extra power on a stock part..

It's hard to tell.. it could have been anything...

 

I kind of thought about getting the transmission rebuilt or buying a new one, which would be better and which is cheaper?

 

I just spent $750 on a rebuild. That was done at my friends shop using high energy frictions and 2-4 band, transgo shift kit, corvette servo, new reverse drum, and a 2500 stall conveter.

Call around or ask members from your area for a good trans shop. Make sure to ask about a waranty!

Salvage yard trans is always an option, but you never know what you are gonna get. I would recommend rebuild
