How much boost for a 10:1 motor?

I'm thinking of adding an ATI D-1SC with intercooler and was wondering how much boost will my motor handle? (motor is in sig.) I was thinking 9 lb. pulley, by the time the air runs through the 3 row intercooler, it should put about 6 lb's at the throttle body. Too much or not enough?

Keep timing low until you get it where you wan tit.. 6psi on 10:1 should be fine. I'm 9:1 and I run 6-7psi with 47 degrees of timing
in some places, and almost no knock.. I retard 1 degree for each psi mind you. But still.

The key is good forged pistons. Under light detonation they wont shatter.

Yea, I was thinking about getting the 9psi ATI D-1SC with the twin intercoolers. I'm waiting until I get the car fully tuned and running right first. I may not need the charger (I'm only looking to run 11's). This may be possible all motor with my combo, we'll see when I hit the dyno and the track! If it doesn't make what I need it to, it's off to supercharger land!

See Sig. I am running 9.8:1CR. No detonation with 22* overall advance with Sunoco 94 and 100 50/50 mix. I think I can get close to16lbs with an intercooler and run pump gas. If I add water injection with of the intercooler and could probobly go to 36* timing. We'll see.

You should be fine with 6lb of boost. If the tune is correct you should not have any problems running 10-12lb with the intercooler.
