What is special with the Procharger "race kit" ? I just recieved my packet of info from them and on the retail price list, they have the race kits, but they don't come with any intercoolers ??? Also, they can have a cog belt, that seems cool. Any ideas here? I am about to order a Procharger system for my Camaro, just need to decide on which kit.

I am pretty sure the way the superchargers are setup for the race kits, that the boost doesnt come up until way later in the rpm range. the street superchargers have boost earlier but wont support as much air flow / ponies. That is my understanding. Get the P1SC kit.

I understand you are the moderator, and you probably know the answer to his question, so why arent you answering it???Originally posted by Guido

I have asked like 4 questions on these boards about centrifigal superchargers and havent gotten a single good answer. I asked for more information from ATI about their prochargers, i have an inch thick of reading material that I have been reading religiously. In it it states that the street superchargers have an internal stepup of 4.10:1 for maximum low rpm boost as well as non helixed gears for a flatter, more streetable torque curve while the race superchargers use helixed gears to "make additional boost and flow in the high rpm range".
I am not saying I was right, but I got this right out of ATI's literature.

The point is, you DIDNT know.
I dont know the answer.
I assume a race kit has a beefier bracket. a compressor. Non specified pullies. Probably doesnt come with some of the other items like inline fuel pump, vacuum lines, FMU, etc. I dont KNOW that though.
So Im not going to attempt to answer the question.
the correct answer is, call ATI and see what they say.

Correct I didnt know the answer, but my paper did. Half the questions on this frickin board go unanswered I was just trying to help out. Is my ATI catalog wrong? And for your information, ATI is one of the hardest companies to contact. They have no toll free tech support line.Originally posted by Guido

Totally unrelated to you or this board, i just find it a bit pathetic that it costs the consumer money to call a company to inquire about a product they are trying to sell to you. It just seems like 1-800 numbers make so much more sense. Oh well.Originally posted by Guido

Dave Back, owner of Tenacious Performance, knows everything there is to know about ATI. And his prices are awesome. I bought my kit from him two years ago and it was by far the best price I've seen anywhere.

RU-QWK--> I am in the process of purchasing a supercharger for my Camaro. I have been working with Dave Back at Tenacious Products, he has been great on responding with answers to my questions. I had asked about the P-1SCH in my last email. I don't think ATI is making that model any more. The D-1SC is essentially the same for the most part, but just more aggressive--it's the same casing as the P-1SC but with an aggressive helixed impeller. Same step-up ratio, even. The radial impeller in the P-1SC is better suited for street applications anyway as the more progressive boost curve helps keep tire spin down.
That kit comes with a 2 Core Intercooler system. If you wanted to upgrade to a 3 Core Intercooler that would be $230 and they do have a custom Twin High Flow intercooler system (the same type of system on the 4th Gen F-Bodies) that you could upgrade to for $350. The THF system is pretty custom in nature however, and isn't an officially released ATI system. If you wanted to read more about it you can in these links:

That's just an FYI... The P-1SC is a great unit for the street, and if you're not going to be doing heavy motor mods with forged internals (to crank up the boost later) a 2 Core intercooler will do you just fine. With the standard HO kit you're looking at up top, the warranty is good and it is one of the best priced kits available for your application. Plus, you can always upgrade later. includes shipping direct to your door from ATI. That's a complete kit with everything you need to supercharge a stock 3rd Gen F-Body, from the larger components to the nuts, bolts, and clamps. We don't have any sort of gauges available. Tenacious is unable to supply the boost and fiel pressure gauges since they are dealing in volume, the price break would make them too expensive for you guys so they prefer to just tell their customers to find a good deal elsewhere. I will purchase my gauges from ATI over the phone since they do not have their site set up for on line ordering.
